Think of a quantizer like rounding in math. If you have for example have the number 3.7, then the quantizer would notch it up to a 4. Simmilarily, if you have a randomly generated note, it may be between lets say an E and an F, and the quantizer would notch it up to an F. Thus, with a quantizer, you can generate melodies, even with completely random signals.

Thanks for the question, Silas! I went into this one trying to get a better handle on Arps. I think I put in some of my go to chords when playing guitar (Em/Am) and then fiddled and discovered as I went. This one I also fed into a paul-stretch a few times, you can sort of hear the shift at the last half.
