My train of thought listening to this in the middle of May: huh this narration sounds familiar... funny ..... wait I know this style.. from where? ...... "bells.".. why am I hearing xmas bells THIS SOUNDs LIKE the narrator from the "Santa Claus is Comin to Town" LOL how funny ... oh I hear again lol ..... ok I wonder if he is just a fan of that movie ....wait this is too similar ....Is this guy his son or something??? .....there's just no way... this isnt on purpose *puts on tin foil hat*.....the narrator of the 1970 Christmas movie "Santa Claus is Comin to Town" somehow leap forward in time and is now making youtube videos about Frieren.... 0.0... I wonder if he still delivers letters to Santa these days...

Columbo is a nasty gross person

We all have favorite detectives - for various reasons - why I love Columbo is the care he takes - making it look so less intense than other detectives. We love Sherlock for various and Hercule Poirot Jim Rockford or Ms Jessica Fletcher - But Columbo is such a class act - quite a few of his catches - give him a 'Well looks like I got caught fair and square' not all but a few. Still that surgeon Mr. Leonard Nimoy played - not sure but been said about the only criminal that made Columbo visibly mad. I did like the homage paid by Poker Face series - took me back to evenings in the 70's watching Rockford. Thanks for this.

My analysis of the show is that : 1) The murderer is the Star, the real protagonist of the show. The audience gets to see the crime and also gets to know the perpetrator of the crime as a close to rounded character. 2) Columbo is essentially a supporting character . He also is textbook definition of "never judge a book by its cover". He's so unlikely a police detective that wonders how he gets away with flouting police procedure in terms of deportment and appearance . 3) The appeal of the show is in Columbo's ability in solving the murder not in catching the crook. Each crime is almost in a sense like a theorum and Columbo provides the proof' - in a concise, detailed manner.

Brilliant show and Brilliant Actor. Not forgetting the very talented writer{s}

Columbo is a timeless classic! Many of the episodes I've seen 2-3 times. And I enjoy them as much as the 1st time I watched. Peter Faulk is just so compelling! Thanks for the video.

Frank Columbo is still one of my favorites, next to Jeremy Brett’s Sherlock Holmes and of course, without equal David Suchet’s Hercule Poirot. I always wanted more mysteries with them at the helm. Not sure if I could accept another actor to play the part of Columbo!

Mr Falk could almost make me smell the cigar as he unwound the mystery thread by thread . Me and my family used to watch him religiously in the 70s. RIP Mr Falk 🙏 ♥️

Besides being smart and wealthy often the suspects had certain advantages Columbo had to deal with such as the CIA Operative, the man with Diplomatic Immunity and his own police Commissioner. He figured out a end run over each one.

Watched until, what’s your picture of a detective. Answer: A saxophone is playing low notes, we are in a bad lit alley, and the detective is the narrator. He lights a cigaret, puts his hat right and leans against a light pole . Music and people talk fills the alley and a faint breeze brings in the fog, slowly.

Yes, my wife and I fall asleep every night watching and rewatching one of Columbo’s 69 episodes😀 additionally his guest villains ,especially in the early versions were fantastic…and one of our favorites was Ray Miland in 1971’s “Death Lends a Hand” and it’s ending and music score..simply sensational. Thank you for your UA-cam post 👍

I just want to send love to everyone on this thread. I so love columbo and through many tough times, the show has brought me solace and company. I love the character and feel kindness and connection in this nonviolent very thoughtful quest for justice
