RMB Element C50 Quick Review
Quick review - XC bike from Rocky Mountain that feels like a mini enduro on downhills. C50 Model is a less expensive option, full carbon frame, mix of mid range and in house specs with radical geometry that can be set to 65 degree head tube angle stepping in to the enduro category. This is probably the legit downcountry bike I have ridden. quick going up, fun going down!

It's a hard climb but worth it, the trails in between or in the upper portion like "on the rocks" is also a beautiful scenery to ride. there are other trails to explore as well. the descent trail "The lord of the squirrels" is fantastic trail, lots of variety...

    Studs work perfectly in pure frozen ice. I think you will ruin them in mixed surfaces with asphalt or concrete. Studs never worked well in 3 plus inches of snow. It was slow and tedious with or without Studs. I use ice spiker pro in front and Kahva in the rear of my 29er, preferably on a frozen river or lake.

    Can you ride studs all year round?

    • @p91rider
      @p91rider 9 днів тому

      @PaulO-ew3hd, yes you can but you will wear out your studs quicker or even lose them. Also, studs are loud on dry pavement and can affect rolling resistance.

      @@MrSchattka hey, yes. Its unavoidable, especially if you always ride it on the hard pavement. As much as possible ride in the snow covered trails. I would probably lose about 20-30 studs in one season.

    • @p91rider
      @p91rider 6 місяців тому

      @RidewithTenzin I suggest between 3rd week August to 1st week September. You would want all the snow gone before going up. Check trailforks app and see trail conditions, they would say if its open. But with the hot weather we have now, the whole loop is probably open. Have a safe ride!

    I have had this bike for 1 year now. It's amazing. It's "the" model to get, as it's quite a bit cheaper than the C70. (And it's usually on sale, which is how I got it). While it descends great, it's the climbing that will blow you away. The shop I bought it at was very cool, they allowed me to 'swap for cost' on a few key components. I bought a pair of spinergy alloy wheels (that were on sale for $200 off), I bought race face carbon cranks (which were being blow out as end of model cycle, save $150), I swapped out the tires for Specialized Ground Control 2bliss. All said, I ended up paying 'full retail', but with much better components. The deal was so good, I got one for my wife as well. Her medium weighs just over 25lbs. My extra-large weighs just over 27lbs. (That includes cages, pedals, and computer). Amazing bike, get one if you can...

    I think you are really riding on dangerous trails. Almost all of the trails were narrow, with very high drop-off if you ever roll off the narrow path. If you fall, you will drop from a very high height!!

    • @p91rider
      @p91rider Рік тому

      @malingehring165 the pit i fell down into is about 3-4 feet if no snow. It was soft due to snow. I know it’s looks dangerous but most of the trails in my local area are pretty safe, these are single tracks. But in this sport though, things can get rough and cause severe injuries. Good thing I put studs on, at least now I have traction on black ice.
