Tigris Valley Farm Black Copper Marans
I have a neighbor who is from France. It's not even close to your Sorry, bud.
High perches for heavy birds- bumblefoot.
Hey Tigris Im on my 4th day of incubation and did the water bottle, can i pull this water out at this stage and continue dry hatching the whole way instead? A lot of ppl say to increase humidity during lockdown but you did it the other way? Take out water completely on day 19 and stop turning?
Check the humidity in the room your incubator is in. If it is lower than 10-20% you can leave the water in. If it's higher you can remove the water in the incubator. We usually just take the water out during lockdown but our humidity here is high.
I want some eggs
How can I get some of your hatching eggs
Fahrenheit bro
Thank you! 😉 👍
If a clucking chicken bothers why not get out of the coop?
Didn't bother me. Did it bother you?
How to buy fertile eggs or chickens , im from philippines.
I live in morocco. I love your videos. I was in desperate need of the eggs of this breed. Unfortunately, I could not find fertilized eggs. 😢😢
My daughter and I are hatching our first eggs BCM so I appreciate you posting this!
👍🙏✌️
Even the French (depending on the region they are from) pronounce Marans in different ways. It sure is confusing.
I was confused for quite a while and sometimes still accidentally put the S on the end.
Thanks 😀 shalom
In French a word is pronounced up to the last vowel. Also, a bowel followed by an “n” is pronounced with a nasal sound. I’m sure they don’t replace the “r” with an “h”, but rather the French and several other languages pronounce the letters differently. The French “r” is pronounced in the back of the mouth and could be misinterpreted as an “h” sound. In French, the “h” is always silent. So much for the French lesson for today. By the way, I live in Brussels, Belgium, where French and Flemish are spoken.
Thank you @graftedbranchhomestead and @waynestanley6371 that is interesting, and very different than American pronunciations.
Are you selling/shipping black copper marans in 2024?
@MaritaDeLaPenaDTG There is a very good possibility we will! But as always please check back with us in the spring.
How much do you want for a dozen eggs
Hey @iamseely1338 we don't have eggs for sale right now. It'll be spring when we'll start back up and with the way things have gone the shipping costs have risen. We'll come out with a video soon addressing this topic. Thank you, brother!
I'd like black copper marans.want this kind breed of chicken.
I live in Ava Missouri I bought chickens from Mr. Brady very nice man. His wife is very very nice too. His chickens are beautiful. I highly recommend you buy eggs from him.
Thank you so much @annettedzialowy1350
Good morning, I WOULS LIKE TO SEND SOE Marans to Brook at Cog HILL FARM in Georgia would you do this?
@nancygriffin3518 unfortunately we aren't able to ship anything at this time. If you find Black Copper Marans in Georgia it would be much better as shipping eggs or birds isn't the best option.
The eggs hatched that you sent me. I have 2 chicks from them and they are doing fine. The post office delivered the eggs 3 days later than originally stated. Probably got a little sightseeing tour on the way. That was completely out of your or my control. But I am completely happy to have the ones that did hatch. They were hatched from some of the darkest eggs. I want to thank you for everything. Ron Young
@ronyoung1985 thank you for the update. Sorry it took so long to find it!

Congrats to the winners!🎉

Beautiful flock of birds😀. Sub and Like 👌👍
@VirgilD Thank you, we are having the hatching egg giveaway right now if you'd like to enter.
Are you saling an chicks yet???
That is good to know about the roosters being so docile. I would love to keep a rooster here on our farm but all the breeds we have tried attack me or my daughter. Might have to try a copper mauran.
All good roosters protect the ladies. Fortunately chickens are capable of learning the difference between people. You have to raise them and talk to them in your natural voice. They will eventually get used to your voice and not attack. Think of them as teenagers with a second grade mentality. And good luck!
Hi, just found your channel and have been watching numerous videos. Would love to win some copper maran hatching eggs. I have not tried this breed before. Their eggs are beautiful ❤
@kellymklug Thank you! The give a way is coming very soon. Hope your incubator is in good working condition ;) It is going to be a requirement to enter the give a way. I will ask everyone entering to give the name of their incubator so we can tell whose serious and who is just entering because it's a give a way.
@@tigrisvalleyfarm it is. I have eggs in there as we speak! 🐣
You have beautiful Black Copper Marans! I am thinking of adding some to my flock. I heard their eggs are delicious. Is the egg hatching giveaway over? I just subacribed to your channel. Looking forward to learning more about these chicken breed from your channel.
@t-money4100 Thank you! The give-a-way is coming up very soon, probably in the next week or so.
1000th subscriber!
Yay! Thank you so much! For watching and subscribing. We can't wait to do a give a way video and get going!
I'm a little confused about the washing of the egg's? 🤷🏼♀️🤔 I thought the protective bloom is best to leave on?
@prplkises71 the bloom is there to protect the egg until hatching. When hatching the bloom doesn't need to be there. I would not wash eggs unless they are going into the incubator.
hi, do you have a particular method for getting roosters to get along with each other, or do you separate them?
@intercepte they all grow up together so it's just a natural pecking order
I just have a barn yard mix, but they are beautiful birds... I don't have any Maran... I hoping to change that
Your marans are beautiful.they look so healthy and happy. Am I yo late for a chance to win hatching eggs ?
You are not too late. We are getting close to 1000 subscribers. After that we'll do a giveaway video. Thank you, Vincent!
thank you very useful sir. greetings greetings of friendship from me in Indonesia .. laying hens
Sir please avail me a breed of black Copper Marans
Im from philippines and its difficult to find breed like copper maran here.i am so happy if i can have breed like copper maran
I have black austrolorp and rhode island red.but is nice to have black copper maran too.
Dry hatching @lockdown ?? I thought bc the shell is so hard to candle, it's hard to get them moist enough for the chick to pick through it too... I have no luck hatching chicks as of yet (first try only 1 chick, different breed, made it, 2 others were fully developed but never hatched, when I Egg topsied them I saw they died just before.. when I was wet hatching as recommended...I am dry hatching rn and left with 5 moving inside out of the 9 BCM I had put in this time (candled last night 1 at day 14 & 4 at day 7 in the other one with a strong Torch, which is still a second test round before loading it up with mostly BCM eggs) I am keeping it around 30% rn (only adding a few drops when it starts beeping below 20% or open it when it suddenly gets to high when too many drops were added> which is quickly done) still wanted to help them the best around hatching time tho with a higher humidity... So you say it's not needed, even for these shells??
We have a cabinet incubator and absolutely zero water is needed to hatch these eggs. Last night pipping turned into hatching and we have about 65 or 75 chicks today. With more on the way. If you think it's too dry add a wet sponge during lockdown. Otherwise they do good without a bunch of humidity.
I just found this today after watching another video of yours and subscribed. Im happy to see how happy you look that your getting subscribers! I enjoy your videos and will watch many more. I am on day 18 with my very first time hatching eggs and have been following some other Maran hatchers advice. My humidity was between 25% and 36% no water sdded with the de humidifier running from day 1 to day 18. Today, Its lockdown and I added water to raise humidity to 55%. I pray my 4 BCM eggs will hatch!
Thank you! I'm not sure how we missed your comment. It gives notifications...sometimes! I hope your hatch was successful.
Very interesting. I am wondering, if the main thing isnt just making sure the eggs lose 13% of their weight either before lockdown or during. They lose weight during low humility phases. So in your case you leave the himidity up the eggs dont lose enough weight, but they will during lockdown. Crazy how many different ways you can hatch eggs lol
We've found the natural humidity in our area to be sufficient throughout the entire hatch. It's usually between 20 - 30%. We also leave the door shut until it's time to move them out of the turners. We appreciate your input greatly! It's difficult to get good at anything without help. So we're trying slightly different methods until the one that works best shows up!
@tigrisvalleyfarm Absolutely! The best thing is to try and share with others! And yes, it totally depends on what area we live, but numbers are numbers, so sharing what works best is invaluable. I had to run my humidifier until today because humidity was getting too high, but I had to use a bit of water to get it to 55% today for lockdown.
Great tips . Shabbat Shalom :)
New to the channel learning a lot
Hello, beautiful chickens, first time watching this channel, I just subscribe. Keep us updated for the chickens!!!
Thank you!
They aren't eating any grass. No vitamin K2 in your eggs. K2 is the vitamin people are missing these days. Cholesterol good, calcium bad!
Our chickens eat grass and bugs. All. The. Time.
@@tigrisvalleyfarm that's good. I just didn't see much grass in your pen. Mine eat so much grass I had to let them free range.
I want some of these eggs and chicks
@donnaterrell9545 are you close to southern Missouri? If so we'll have chicks in a couple of weeks.
