Quick trip out on a sunny but very cold day Fishing was slow going but got a very nice Pollock which weighed and looked bigger than the video shows - very nice fish Got to use the 360 camera for the first time which I think helps the video rather than just a head shot every time - bloody nightmare to edit though!
The fish are back! Douglas Bay, Isle of Man

What a great days fishing After a few trips with no fish they were back with a vengeance. Good sized fish between 50 - 65cm and most of them feisty and fighting hard Most caught on Savage Gear weedless ells or the lethal Crazy Eel. Had to restock those as they were potent #Isleofman #Fishing #pollock

Glorious day in Mid November 2024 Down at Port Erin on an incoming tide. Plenty of fish around and an enjoyable 3 hrs fishing The Boast is a F-Rib 330 which is a foldable rib and fits into the back of my van with a 6hp Suzuki outboard Fixed a mix of soft plastics and metal lures Still working on technique and clearly my plastic lure technique works but have issues with the metals. Need to keep ...

Go for it. Bro looks so nice
Nice boat! What is its weight?
@@dimitriskal1160 hi - it’s 43kg and the motor is 23kg. I keep it stored in my van as it folds into three
@@Argylefishing Thanks man!
Great vlog,new subscriber,tight lines for 2025
@@Rockhopper_ni_brian thank you
Nice mate
I don't know how u film with all that bobbing about. Brilliant 👍
Ha ha, I'm sure it was u out there when I was having a pint in the bay😂.Great vid, just subbed ya mate
❤❤❤❤❤
Tiller extension, balance by moving weight forward. Getting the wheels up helps a lot too. :)
Ha - the wheels! I have changed the layout since and am sat further up the boat. Also need to adjust the trim a bit
I’ve been round the calf before and it’s fine on a good day. I only run a 6hp on mine
Have you had the Frib through the sound ?
@@andymustash not yet Took my old sib through it though - be easier in the Frib I hope
@@Argylefishing looking forward to seeing the video when you do. I have a 3.3m one with 9.9HP Suzuki, great bit of kit. Mum lives on the island, I must bring it over the next time I'm across. I've fished in the bay off a kayak but never ventured past the breakwater.
Man that's bad sorry for your loss what a drag, some of us have been through the same thing,😊😊😊 ASKED JESUS CHRIST ✨✨ ETERNAL FOR HIS SPIRITUAL HEAVENLY PEACE THAT SURPASSED EVERYTHING AND HE WILL MAKE YOU FEEL YOUNG 🌱 HIS PEACE IS REAL AND FOR HEAVEN ❤️🙏 I'M 71 YEARS OLD BUT HIS PEACE MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE YOU 21 YEARS OLD 🗝️ IT SURPASSES EVERYTHING, AMEN
Nice to see you getting out! It's been months since my boat tasted sea water
@@TheReelIsle been out a lot but had my last trip for a while today - moving house!
Great footage an thanks for being brave and gettin out in it in winter ❄️
Those suzukis are amazing
good effort mate cheers martyn van life fisherman 👍👍
Looking forward to your Scotland trip! How bugs your van - always room for a small sub in it!
@@Argylefishing thanks the van sleeps one person comforably
Nice fish, thanks 👍.
@@Bill-d7g he was bigger than he looked - they always are!
well done good effort mate and a new subscriber too cheers martyn van life fisherman 👍👍
👍!! ! 💜
Thanks.
Again love ur vids the back of bradda is stunning ,maybe show a bit more ? Lovin the drone shot, didnt realise how tiny ur little "boat" is again thank you 👍
The drone is new and a bit tricky to land on the boat. I’m still learning with these cameras. The boat is only 12ft and it’s a little 6hp but enough for one person and I don’t go out further to sea than I can swim back to shore
Hell of a session, fish are def back in.. dont be a dickhead fish !! 😅 lovin ur vids man, love ur enthusiasm, tray of shame well used. Thank you... 😊
@@69cookiemunster glad you enjoyed it - was a really good session
Tray of shame, been on the couch of shame a few nights.great video glad I found you. Good luck from the states.
@@Bill-d7g thanks for tuning in!
brilliant fishing lad🐟😁 tight lines!!
Glad you enjoyed
I used to fish around Scarlett point and Castletown harbour as a kid.
Great footage esp with the drone but I just tried searching for your channel an alot of other stuff come up first just a observation keep the up the good work 👍
@@LiamkaighinLKTV thank you. Yes the name doesn’t come to the top of the list. I may have to tweak it
@ yeah that's up to u but was really finding it difficult and some weird stuff aswel come up lol I hope it goes well am out of boat next wk hopefully fishing for squid am sure you would be more than welcome
@@LiamkaighinLKTV it’s a good point though. It does lead to items not intended! Good luck with the squid - messy sods!
@ haha I know but they pay alright am hopefully get some good footage am only on this so family etc can look back an also u can’t monetized over here dnt think look forward to seeing u out get out to the cod wrecks only a mile from stababs an 2 of them which are 200m away get herring alsorts there
@@LiamkaighinLKTV I plan to get further out next year. Been laid up after an op most of this year so next year will be more adventurous Only a small boat and engine though
It was a slow day but the fish did come back to Douglas, 2 x new videos coming in a couple weeks once I’ve edited them - thanks for watching!
Ah - didn’t want to interrupt people fishing I’ll come over next tine
That was myself, Jay and Mikey from all round!
Give swapped all mine out as well now
I hate those trebles. I have replaced all the trebles on my 376 lures😅. Safer for fish and fishermen
I remember having great times fishing with my dad off the rocks just around from the lighthouse near where you are. Always seemed to be a good spot for Callig. Had to get them in quick to avoid getting snagged of the rocks. Treasured memories even more now as I lost my dad 2 years ago. He loved his fishing hope to take my son there when he's old enough to carry on the tradition.
It’s a lovely spot to fish but can be tricky on those rocks - hope you get to fish there again soon
My drag is set a lot less than yours, large pollock often scream off, it a cause of many a break off. First video I've seen of your and really liked it, so will subscribe. Nice one.
@@MB-AFC thanks - I have heard there is a big one at that location that has broken a few - he’s my mission now
Conger boy
Freshwater angler here. All my fish are catch and release so barbless single hooks are the way. If you hook a fish correctly and maintain pressure it can't come off.
Hai bro what are restrictions in ireland to fishing catch and release but in india no restrictions to fishing hooks and net only one 1/2 month feeding Holiday only sea net fishing tell me to permussions
Slow fishing is better than no fishing
Conger
It’s better than the 2.9 SIB I had. Quicker and gets through chop better. Only have a 6hp engine on it so it’s fine 1-up
How are you finding the f-rib?
SEALS TAKING HOOKED FISH
Definitely a double figure fish , This may give you nightmares in your dreams .
tope?
Conger eel
Luvin ur videos Paul 😊 ive learned that saying since ive moved here, fukin elllll 😅 standard. May i ask do u do any shore fishing ? Again new to the island/sea fishing just lookin for a bit of info on where to fish without upsetting any landowners etc tight lines 👍
I rarely shore fish as I have very little success so can’t really help there. You won’t have any bother with land owners if fishing from beach or off the rocks. North and West tends to be Bass etc and South and East I’d Pollock etc but my knowledge is minimal for that
@@Argylefishing thank u for replying, thank u for the info im just trying to learn ,I appreciate it ,just sat watching u fishing off drinking dragon great vid not sure u wanted that shitting pollack on ur boat,😆keep them coming 👍
@@69cookiemunster get on some of the fishing trips from Port St Mary - they go to the Calf
Deffo big Calig mate pop in the shop with your reel I’ll have a skeet at it and have a chat about catching that monster 👍
what is a callig ?
I had that happen twice, same day just across the water off walney. We steamed at 6 knots to keep up with it the second time, snapped me off eventually.
haha, what snapped at the end of the video ? the line or a knot ?
@@chrisbeswick791 the note at the bottom of the leader
@@Argylefishing what knot do you use? I used to snap off a bit when snagged etc, now I use the uni-knot I think it's called, they hardly ever break at the knot. Just a tip in case you was using a weaker type knot 😊😊😉
Had that happen a few times. Seals taking a hooked fish.
Great video, you are so lucky to have this on your doorstep, I plan to bring my rib over next year
