One AI wrote the story and another one read it. And the writer AI had a glitch in the middle of the story but didn't reread it's story to make sure it made sense. You know the funny thing, this will probably end up happening in the future. I'm surprised the movie industry hasn't already come out with AI writers already.

I just don't get if its all supposed to be a simulation. Than how can a computerized predator be dangerous? No matter how realistic the audio and visuals are. The still can't be real. It's just weird to think so thing falsely genorated could hurt you.

This is the best story explaining why Earth is classified as a Deathworld in a classroom setting. It would be interesting if there were more lessons regarding the plants and animals. I suspect that would require a class dedicated to the topic. It's a nice change from the outrageous teen who brags and is condensending about others reactions. Although other planets surely have some of these conditions, but apparently not all on one planet like Earth.

The blind faith isn't blind Faith. What we understand. Well what i understand and would hope more of my species understood. Is. Its nit blind faith when you know there is a sequence of events in which can take place any which way. And the fact we were made by these sheer sequence of events taking place one after the other. Meaning its a literal toss of the dice that has to land specifically each time even for us to exist as a collective of microorganisms. Where not animals the same way as the creatures around us. Where mountains plants and animals by proxy to these creatures and structures of nature. We don't have a metal carapace to shield us from external factors such as the environment. We had to evolve and adapt every level of protection. Memtal and physical. And spiratal is a combination between physical and mental "reactions" no the soul is the awareness in active motion and the awareness can be captured. However the body cannot be forced to function beyond what the soul is willing to take. And not even no one should know such an experience :{ Meaning each and everyone of us is a hibe mind. Not just a hive mind. But each and every body is the intelligence of the hive mind that is each body independently. Respectfully. While the collective cocsusnes wouldn't be a hive mind. But rather all the dead material of the hive minds before us. Of the bodies before us. Still performing the function of control for our species on this planet. And yes plural sepsis. As the collective mind is much more a single entity the one we think is artificial intelligence in which artificial intelligence isn't a hive mind. Its a colony. Much like how our bodies are made up of millions of different kinds of microorganisms. So to is machine made up of several thosands of different types of intelligence. Where its not the whole body that is one living creature. But more of an active wide spread aquarium of thousands of different species all coexisting in a simbiotic nature even if internally they may clash resulting in errors such as error 304 does not compute...

Good story - Follow up when Nyx is older

It was a cute story, really. However way too long. With these kind of stories, shorter is better. If you had stopped half way it would have been cute, light hearted, enjoyable. Now the second half was a repeat of the first half. I know, the cat saved the day in different situations but in essence there were four or five increasingly unbelievable repeats. After the third cat interference I was longing for a closure with a scene where the cat was in the captain’s lap, being caressed and purring. The captain more relaxed as she has ever been since she was appointed as captain. That would have been satisfying. It is possible this story ended this way, but I did not experienced it because I got annoyed with the repeats and left before the end. I don’t know why, but it seems you prioritize length over quality.

i really like the story but in my opinion the tone of voice in this would much more fit a horror story

The almost cure for a cold is 2 cans of chicken soup one can of tuna and garlic powder cooked up together and eaten. Sounds nasty but I have it when ever I have a sore throat or a cold coming on . shortins a cold 😊❤

I think these aliens would have been HORRIFIED upon learning about the more severe version of this illness, Pneumonia, the cold that can kill humans! But being in the far future, i'd imagine that thanks to superior treatments & medicine, it rarely occurs.

If this was a cultural exchange then the aliens should have been provided medical data. They would know better.

This reminds me of history how the Indians were wiped out by blankets given to them from people who died from some disease. Was it typhoid or small pox? Anyway they were not immune having a disease-free life. In the story It is understandable how the aliens were terrified of a sickness they didnt understand. He was being selfish and flippant by not considering their risk. How can he know they can't get it? On the other hand, they did take precautions to help themselves, treating him like a science project. I sympathized with him then. Did they bring him chicken soup, kleenex, Vicks or hot tea? This story gave me a nightmare.😮

I always side with the alien medics in these stories. Eric had a lot of time for a lot of rest and fluid. Wonder how the alien medics would react if they knew a cold could sometimes turn into something worse? George Washington died of a cold that turned into pneumonia.

NEATO! A brill story! If another contest was organised, it should be with Earth Dishes & several alien species taking part. Here's my idea for a follow-up: The following year in the same location another food contest is held, the food is from Earth & halfway through the eating several competitors have collapsed in agony! Several medics have been called for & it was discovered that the sauce in the spaghetti bolognaise dish was responsible! 1 alien judge demands an explanation, the human judge none other than Thomas Calder explains that the Tomato Fruit which the sauce was made from was naturally acidic. "WHAAAAT!" The alien judge shrieked, "And you humans can eat this with no problems?" "That's right," Thomas replies, "We did warn you about the potential of possible allergic reactions or becoming dangerously ill from eating some dishes." Another alien judge a famous chef shakes her head after hearing this, "Unbelievable! I should bone up on studying Earth Food & figure out what would be safe for who to eat." The contest continues, another alien throws up after eating a popular dessert called a trifle, his digestive system couldn't handle the custard & cream in it. Another alien after tasting Espresso Coffee develops a neurological malfunction which takes days to wear off. The Ruvon aliens are SHOCKED to hear about what the earth dishes did to several of the competitors. The Ruvon Competitor becomes more sensible in his consumption of food in later years. Before trying some Earth dishes he would learn about them first, he is HORRIFIED when he learns about Fugu, a dish made from a fish that is known to be POISONOUS! He immediately informs the Elders who are equally shocked, "The humans must have very strong digestions!" 1 elder exclaims, "They must have," Elder Venkar replies, "If we wish to consume any Earth Dishes, we must be careful. I heard some humans will literally eat insects, Earth Insects of course. Anyhow, as far as Terran Cuisine goes, your idea of studying Earth Dish ingredients is a good idea. Last thing we need is a reoccurrence of what happened at that Earth Food Contest."

It would be slightly more realistic if there was a one week break between competitions. Gorging on consecutive days is unrealistic. Human ability to consume great quantities is based on our history of feast and famine.

Why do the aliens keep embarising them selfes like this, either their profesionals beat an amateure which means nothing or their profesionals get beaten by an amateure which will only embaris them further...
