Well presented and will be good for the follow-up communication to clearly lay out the key appeal factors/data points if needed to challenge the appraisal. As stated in the presentation, lots of confusion within neighborhoods when significant differences in appraised value when no noticeable property differences including wood vs. rugs, etc. Finally, I would expect the County Board/City Council to make its own statement that the reappraisal WILL NOT result in increased tax rates/bills of more than X% in the first year after the appraisal to allow folks to determine (a) how to pay and (b) if its worth staying in Durham. Also, I believe you can request a reappraisal without waiting if for example, major change in the market or depreciation of your property, correct?

Our elected Leaders are throwing up their hands and covering their eyes while developers continue to destroy the environment of lands and creeks in Durham County...while the study is conducted! And environmental destruction will continue to explode during the study as high density developments are approved by city council. Unbelievable that our Leaders expect all Durham property owners to clean up developer caused destruction! Developers are not held responsible for the environmental destruction they are causing. Why?

I recently went to the Durham County Board of Elections building downtown (201 N. Roxboro St.) to get a free Voter photo ID card. It was very easy to do and didn't take long. However, the building itself has some construction going on around it, and there is construction tape around the entire building. I thought this meant the building was closed, and maybe the Board of Elections had moved. But after walking around the whole building, I found one door that was not blocked by the tape. This is where you need to go, and the office for a photo ID is right inside that door. So don't be fooled by the appearance of all the construction, the building is open!
