Hi Darcy!! What a treat to watch your podcast during one of my breaks today! It sounds like you’re having so much fun with your grandchildren.😊 Your finished sweater is just beautiful - such a lovely color on you. And your fingerless mitts are so pretty in the green yarn. When you showed your socks, I immediately thought of zig zags so I’ll offer up the name Zig Zagtastic socks.😁

I love all the seasons but summer is my favorite. Mornings on the deck, just put shoes on and go if you’re leaving the house, cookouts, etc. One kindness story that always sticks out to me is when my mom died, I went to get a haircut before the funeral and my hairdresser didn’t charge me. Seems like such a small thing but her thoughtfulness and care that day meant a lot to me.

Living in Florida, my favorite season is winter when we have less heat, less pollen, and less humidity. I agree, my real favorite is knitting season which is year-round. Looking forward to warm ears. Is there a limit on how many hats we can enter? Full disclosure, I make ALOT of hats and most are for charity.

Hi Darcy, I love each season for the various things they bring to our lives but I have to say my favorite is fall. Summers are so hot in GA that outdoor days can be miserable but we have a reprieve from those terribly hot days in the fall. I love the chilly nights, camping, roasting marshmallow around a fire, hay rides, hot cider, and all the fall things! I’m looking forward to your new patterns! Glad you liked the “Bounce” name for your hat! I’m thinking about starting a kal for a sweater that was designed for a knitting retreat that I’ll be going to at the end of Jan. Not 100% sure bc it is a pullover and I really prefer a cardigan. I would just turn it into a cardigan but the pattern doesn’t really lend itself to that without a good bit of adjustment….but I actually might work on that! You are so right! We all need more kindness in our lives. Purposing to do an extra kindness each day would be a great goal for all of us!! Have a great day!!!

I love every season but I do appreciate the cooler ones because then I can wear all the knits 🧶. I’m looking forward to so much knitting the next few months between the Pigskin Party, test knits and charity knitting. After watching this episode I know I need to go shop my stash for fingering and DK yarn! Your kindness wreath idea sounds lovely and something this country could use right now. I can't pick a favorite season because there is something I appreciate about each one. Winter means lots of time inside sewing and knitting especially on snow days. Spring is the promise of warmer weather, and the end of spring is so lush and green. Summer is vacations and relaxing from work. Fall brings cool evenings and the start to a new school year.

Darcy, I think winter is my favorite season. I love fires in the woodstove, getting snowed or iced in, comfort food (soups, roast and casseroles) short days and long nights. I am very excited about the warm ears MAL, last year I knit hats for our local crisis center and would love to make it a tradition. Also, I can't wait for your sock pattern, how do I get on your test knit list?

What a great idea for a fundraiser! When my grandchildren were young every birthday and Christmas included a book, happy to report as adults they are all readers. I love to knit sport or DK weight sweater and keep waiting for a friend to maybe knit me a fingering weight sweater.

Hi Darcy! I am more likely to participate in a knit-along if it is a project I already planned to make, and/or if I would be knitting along with people I’ve met in person. I’m least likely to participate if I would need to buy more than 3 skeins of yarn for it. My favorite weight to knit a sweater is DK, but my favorite weight to wear is fingering… maybe Sport weight is my sweet spot. 😅

I’m looking forward to your new hat pattern! The only sweaters I manage to complete are baby ones. I usually frog mine before getting too far. Maybe this winter .

I like kals though sometimes I have a hard time remembering to check in. I would love to do a hat KAL, I was just thinking this morning that I’d like to make more hats. I only make one or maybe two sweaters a year. I’ve only used dk or worsted weight. I’m finishing up the first sock of my second pair for summer sock camp but I know I won’t get the second one done by 8/31. So I did one and a half pairs and I guess I’m happy with that. I’m not a huge sock knitter anymore (I used to be). I think I answered all your questions!

L'hiver is the French word for winter. The H is not pronounced in french so the word would sound like Leevair ,if it was spelled phonetically. I'm sure I didn't write the phonetic translation correctly but that is the way the word sounds, at least to Canadian French speakers anyway.

Love knitting sweaters and prefer fingering and DK weight yarn for sweaters.

Hi Darcy…. I love make alongs. Having one that also benefits a great cause would be wonderful! I’m finishing up one more pairs of socks before the end of camp. I’ve knit many sweaters. I wear more summer sweaters if they’re in fingering weight and more in the fall/winter made in DK weight. Thanks for another lovely episode!

Darcy well questions answered 1. Love make alongs. 2. Name of hat bumpy air circle hat.3. Warm ears mal sounds great. Would do yes yes yes. Also my favourite yarns I’d dk ,worsted and fingering weight. But I would like to use dk or worsted because I always have to go down in needle size. So for dk I use 3 to 3.50 mm and fingering use 2.50 to 2.75 mm needles. Worsted use 3.50 to 4 mm needles

Hi Darcy! I do love make alongs because I enjoy the comraderie of making things with a group. It’s so fun talking about it with others in the group. I like making finger weight sweaters, but DK is my second choice. Also, fantastic idea for the fundraiser, I’m in it for sure! Have a great week

Hi Darcy, I do love knit along bc having a deadline helps me finish projects. I have knit some sweaters but living in GA, I have found that cardigans (all weights) are most useful for me. I still need to add at least 3 pairs of socks to the group!! Looking forward to seeing the wrap and the mystery shawl!

Hi Darcy, I have never joined a knit-along. I think about it often and should really give one a try, I don't do well with deadline knitting. I have knit two sweater for myself, and rarely wear either one. A Wonderful Wallaby and an Ankers Summer Sweater. When my grandchildren were younger, I knit many sweaters for them. Thank you for sharing :)

I hope you enjoyed your retreat. I put together a family retreat there times a year. It is at a retreat center that used to be a bank. Retreats are so fun!

I'm a "jogger too"! It's tough to get outside in the summer here down in Atlanta. Then, of course, work gets in the way. I work in retail, so I do get my steps in though. I need to get a little sweater for my grandson on the needles, as his first birthday is in Oct. I also have to get a few baby blankets on the hook. I'm just in a cast on paralysis state. UGH

It was so nice to meet you and Katie in Illinois. I will definitely be attending again next year. I need to get my shoes on and start walking again. I was walking 40-60 minutes a day until the week before Maker's Meet Up. A stress fracture has derailed my exercise since. Will be out walking again as soon as cleared by the doctor.

I am a avid sock knitter, a pair always on my needles. So I thought it would be fun to make a garland of little socks for a Christmas decoration. My family all ask for socks for Christmas, so have the 14 pair done for them. Found a pattern on raverly, so cute, started today.

Melissa from Bella Fio sent "Darcy's Delight" to the Crazy Sock Lady. I saw it on her podcast and knew I had to have it. My daughter's name is Darcy. I plan to make socks for her out of this yarn. I love knitting all day. The only way I get my workout in is to schedule it. I know every day when it hits that time, the needles get put away and the workout clothes go on! Another great podcast!

Your little turtle is so cute. I struggle with moving too because i want to sit and knit. I've never tried to knit while walking or on the treadmill. I walk my son's dog 4 days a week so that really helps. I haven't started Christmas projects yet, but I should! 😅 Thanks for another great podcast!
