These were the songs being played on the radio in 1991. That's one of the few things Netflix got right.
I think there's no deeper meaning in it. It's just a hit record from 1991, a handsome mysterious guy dancing to a nice and sad song in a typical 90ies disco, which many of us love to remember. That's the beauty about it. Has nothing to do with a murderer.
