Eva Schloss holocaust survivor talks to Ben Cooper
Where have all the original Bbc radio 4 episodes gone on here? He did a fabulous live show in Southport Atkinson Theatre this year Proper boss
The man was one of the best speakers that ever took a stage. Funny, passionate, and lazer-focussed on things that matter. RIP Rodney. Love you.
Count arthur a brilliant and consommé variety star of stag and screen I really do
If I could get a word in here, I think that his monologues of his that he does are marvellous. A great star of variety, I really do. Would love to see him live but I suspose that will have to wait until the end of the global pandemonium, ....no that's not right is it.... the global condominium... oh sod it I'm surprised you don't know what that is anyway! Where was I?....
Gem!
Can't get enough of this guy...brilliant
Isn't the same twit that tried to ban the dragon ('the sign of Satan') on the Welsh flag....?
I really admire his art and great performance skill, and philosophy, I have been to his concerts in Macao China, Brighton, Beijing and Moscow. He gave great performances on the works of Brahms, Rachmaninov, Prokofiev and Beethoven, amazing, undoubtedly
why indeed, I've certainly never heard of it, but I will now be seeking to purchase one and share this valuable information
Count Arthur told me that he was a huge star on the wireless after the war."Sadly the golden days of variety were short lived as was my juggling act", explained Arthur. What a trooper, I really do.
Juggling on the wireless. Can't fault it. Only The Count would think of that. Pure genius. Venqriloqwism next,no doubt.
Already been done - Peter Brough and Archie Andrews back in the 1950's.
It's not that well known but Count Arthur used to be a keen CB radio aficionado. His handle was "Black Pudding". All was fine until there was some silly mix up with his one time good friend and fellow CB user, Lenny Henry., I'm not sure of all the details but I do know that it was round about the time that Lenny was desperately trying to lose weight. You couldn't make it up.
What you may not know is that Count Arthur used to be a volunteer hospital visitor. Going round and spending a few precious moments with all those people who rarely got visitors. "I didn't get paid for it you know. I simply did it as an act of kindness. I gave it up eventually as I had a falling out with the Administrators. It seemed every patient they assigned me to was suffering from some form of sleep disorder. Before I I even had a chance to park my bottom they'd invariably shut their eyes and nod off! And lets face it you can only sit there for so long eating their fruit". What a star, I really do.
we are burnley...juliet bravo
It was good living next door to you ! you never ceased to make the kids laugh and smile RIP x
Rest in peace Terry, trad jazz legend. We won't forget you.
RIP Terry.....
