Ahh yea small waist wide hips, my exact issue with pants and why high waist skirts and dresses work better than pants even though I prefer trousers. It’s just hard to find ones that have a small enough waist with wide enough thigh and hips area. Def a mood dresser but I call it cat lady librarian vintage. Although that doesn’t fully cover all my style envelopes. 40s vintage with an academia, cottagecore, collegiate, granny, with a touch of whimsy. I also incorporate cat print/motif into my daily wardrobe. Like miss patina brand. Shopping is difficult to say the least.

I feel like we all have the same start with wearing vintage; whether it's cringey colour combos, wonky hair, or pieces that just don't feel 100% "right" - but we have to start somewhere! It's a process that allows you to learn what you like, dislike, and what works for you. Love your message about doing your own thing and not having to be a 'purist', as you say. I didn't have anyone telling me that when I started out, and I definitely felt discouraged on days where I wasn't dressed completely authentic. But I came to realize that I just like so many different aspects of fashion and history, I didn't have to stick to one decade or aesthetic. Now I feel far more comfortable hopping around different styles, mixing decades, and still wearing contemporary clothes when I feel like it. Do what works for you, that's all that matters in the end! ❤️

I just found madcap england I have finally found what style of vintage I like that is it. I was a bit worried about ordering as it's a new site. If you don't mind me asking are they ok? I was worried about what size to order. I'd love to take a chance and order some dresses I love 60s dresses. I bought other vintage styles through the years but was always bit unsure if I could go out in them probably a confidence thing. I can honestly say this is my style. Thankyou so much for any help.
