Hey TMC Fam! Welcome to my UA-cam channel, the Mondesir Critique! I have been healthily obsessed with film and TV since I was about eight years old. I've always wanted a passion project related to Hollywood & since all I do is talk and think about TV/Film I figured, why not create a platform where I can do just that! On my channel you will find real, fun, concise, and fair reviews, where I give you the quick rundown of a new or old movie I've seen and whether or not I would recommend it. My reviews will be super quick, all 7 minutes or less. You can watch my videos while you're standing in the ticket line wondering what to see! Short enough for you to duck into a bathroom in the middle of the party to watch my clips, absorb my analysis and head back to your friends so you can say something interesting in the movie convo. I am so excited to share my perspective as a black woman that cares for both the art and the audience. See you soon!

@@themondesircritique8990 Yw sis. I’m nobody special , something bigger than me wanted you to know your special. Have a blessed day 😊
This movie had some emotional moments and definitely took a more serious tone compared to the others. It was one of the better marvel films lately.
I agree! Way better than recent MCU movies. Thanks for watching!!
Happy Friday. Just found your channel and just subbed. I reviewed this one as well and I really enjoyed it.
Hi there! Thank you so much for watching! I'll watch your video shortly and subscribe :)
Great review!
Thank you so much for watching!
Love this review. Whitney is an icon so I'll probably still watch but I'd also would have been interested in learning something deeper about her.
London has Fallen is one of my favorite action packed movies- Gerard Bultler again!
I loved the last one, Angel Has Fallen. So fun and action filled.
I love a good plane movie/show and a crime aspect as well. Can't wait to watch this one!
Haha yes I know you're a Manifest fan. Thanks for watching!
These blue eyed devils were killing black people at will without being punished for it
Good job
Thank you Dad!
Good movie review! Keep up the good work!
Nice review. Blanchett is phenomenal
I had a fun time with this one. I think the script, story, plotting, villain, and characterizations were all pretty weak but the action was awesome!
Yeah I feel the same. Like I see all the things wrong with it, but I also had a good time watching in theaters! I really enjoyed some of the action scenes too. Thanks for watching!
Great review! I wish there was a bit more imagination in movies these days.

Black on black crime . Just like Chicago
Next up, the uplifting and empowering story of the female prison guards during World War 2.
No matter how wonderful an actress Viola may be. The story is changed and totally depicts the events how they did NOT happen. So, no one wants to mention that the historical facts are all wrong. This should not be called a historical drama movie, when in fact it changes the bad guys into the good guys and vice versa. It is disappointing that a black actress is depicting a fake story about strong black women, when in real life, we have had so many strong wonderful back female heros. There was no need to make up a fake story, when we already have the honest material to depict so many black females as heros.
Did you see the movie?
Yay lets make a movie that glorifies a tribe that enslaved thousands upon thousands of there own race yay!!!!!!
Educate yourself before speaking . It’s the one of millions untold stories of redemption and changing their ways to fight then fight back against they slavery system they had in place … and colonialism . Should’ve watched the movie first or studied the many redemption stories in Africa . 💡💡💡
I understand. I honestly don't think movies need to water down people's histories to make a compelling Hollywood film. I think the movie could have had a sharper focus on the kingdom's slave trade and I'd still be interested in the story. But I also understand the focus on the women's army because it is an unusual historical note. If you were a filmmaker would you have not made the movie at all, or would you have condemned the Dahomey kingdom even more on screen?
It's a joke . Blacks sold other blacks . That is the history.
I really enjoyed it very much 👍🏽👍🏽🔥🔥
I did too. Thank you for watching my review!
This was an excellent movie
I agree, I enjoyed it too. Thanks for watching!
I have been waiting for this review!! 🙌🏾 Viola is phenomenal! This film was soo good!
Thank you so much for watching! Viola was so so good, I had no doubts. I really enjoyed it!
What lies. Wow . Black on black crime .
I actually remember when this hit Sundance, and I was really excited to see Regina and Sterling take on these characters. They both did an awesome job, although I think Regina definitely stole the show. The writing, story progression, and pacing is my biggest issue, though. I was hoping it would delve deeper than it actually did. Appreciated hearing your thoughts on this one! 🙏🙏🙏
Hi there! Thank you so much for watching my review! I absolutely agree, Regina stole the movie! It's her best dramatic performance to date. Yes I've heard other people say the same, that it should have dug deeper on some topics, I can definitely understand that.
Good review but too many spoilers. I also seen the movie last weekend. I liked it but did not loved it.
Hi there! I re-watched the review and you're right I think I did reveal a bit too much! I typically try not to give away more than what the trailer does but I think I just caught so many details I went overboard. I hope it didn't ruin the experience for you! Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much for this review! I watched it yesterday and didn't love it, TBH. But I appreciate you sharing this additional nuance. Sterling was really good in it - even though I prefer him in serious roles. Regina Hall is a whole treasure and she NAILED the inner conflict on her face over and over again. Maybe they can have a sequel where he gets caught again, moves to another city (cough - MEMPHIS - cough) and has children. I think that was the piece that's missing; school-aged children that have social media.
Thank you so much for watching! I agree it would have been interesting to see additional factors like children and social media playing a role. I didn't mind how contained it was though, to just these two people. And yes I loved Regina's performance!
I don’t typically watch horror even tho this does seem a little more like a thriller. The plot seems kinda weird lol this review makes me not interested in this main character.
Yeah it's definitely more of a thriller, there were only a few scenes that felt like straight horror to me. And yeah she is not really an entertaining main character. The plot is weird and honestly outdated.
You told me too much lol but this seems pretty hilarious and I’ll probably watch at some point. Regina Hall is incredible every time.
Hey there lol! Ugh I try not to reveal much more than what the trailer does but I think I just had so much to say that I went overboard this time. I'll definitely work on that. Thanks for watching! <3
Loved this review! Going to check this movie out today.
Thank you so much for watching!! Yes please watch and tell me your thoughts.
I haven't heard of this movie but loved the review!
Yeah I only heard of it once while watching previews before another movie and decided to check it out. Pretty low key. I'm so glad you liked the review! ❤️
We need more Angelina! I was so sad when I saw how little she was in there.
Hello! And agreed. It's a shame she wasn't used more. She could have elevated shaky moments with her presence.
This makes me want to watch House of Gucci more. Also, we don't talk about Bruno!
I'm planning on watching Don't Look Up this afternoon! Yes, I definitely hadn't heard about 355. Great reviews!!
Good job
Thank you Dad!
Im so on ur side about the movie. I felt the movie had the star power and talent but it fell flat in execution. The action scenes were incredible. I agree that two leads just didnt have any chemistry. Druig and Makkari and had everything I have been waiting for in the MCU like actually chemistry. They were believable and cute as hell. Im actually looking forward to the sequel tho, I think Marvel will cleanup their mistakes with the first one and bring it on the sequel.
Yes! Like the actors chosen aren't bad actors but I think a misfit for the movie, or maybe, they just couldn't bring that script to life. I do think the action scenes were the spotlight for sure. And yes they need to put Druig and Makkari front and center, their relationship is so cute and felt real! I am definitely going to see the sequel, but idk, after Endgame, MCU isn't impressing me right now. But I will give them a chance to try and shift into a new storyline.
Hey! I was browsing UA-cam & came across your video, so I thought I’d give it a watch and support a fellow youtuber. I have to say… I ENJOYED your review, breakdown and thoughts overall on the movies, The Suicide Squad, Free Guy & Respect, I liked all 3 movies! 🙂 I’m certainly going to be around more to check more of your content! I really liked Shang chi one of the best origins movie of mcu
I really liked it too!! I'm excited to see what they'll do with the character in future movies.
Great reviews! I'm going to plan to see the one with Nicholas Cage soon!
This is a great idea! I'm excited as well
Thank you so much!
These reviews will be spoiler free right?
Yes they'll be spoiler-free! I will put a disclaimer if they're ever not.
I hadn't heard of this movie, I'll look into it
Great review! I will check it out, I'm hoping to go see it on a large screen as well
Great recap!! I will definitely check it out-- if only to honor Chadwick Boseman and see Delroy Lindo's performance and a hopeful Oscar! SN: Love the shirt!
The movie had no plot. You like Julia Garner ...she was dull
I think the movie starts off really slow definitely, it could have added other interesting scenes about what was happening at her job. But I think the plot didn't have several layers on purpose, it was mostly a focused portrayal of how something so insidious and disturbing can be happening right under people's noses, during a regular work day, because people ignore it. Not too much action, sure, but it was a honest movie. And Julia Garner's performance can seem dull on the surface, but I actually think she does so much very subtly! Her performance really matches the movies energy: on the surface everything seems normal and pretty dull, but on the inside everything is bubbling up to the surface.
I could listen to your reviews all day! Concise but insightful!
Thank you so much! I am going to start uploading again.
I really liked this movie and your review as well I also just uploaded a review of my own on this movie as well on my channel. Maybe you can check it out and possibly Subscribe to my channel (New subscriber btw ☺️)
Good insight. I haven't heard of this one but enjoyed this review!
Thank you so much! Yeah it's kind of a smaller movie, but it's certainly interesting.
I had a lot of fun with this in theaters! Great performances, great action and I really enjoyed the humor. The story was the weaker part of it, but I still enjoyed it. I enjoyed hearing your take on it! I reviewed this one, too! Great review!
Hi Anthony! I agree with you, the performances and the action scenes were great, the story line was a bit out there (don't see why some movies decide to go with an overwrought, wild plot, sometimes simpler is better in my opinion, especially with action movies!) but the movie holds up otherwise. Thank you so much for watching!
Such an amazing movie! Great review :)
Thank you so much, Lydia! I agree, it's a great film, my favorite of 2020 so far.
I am still trying to unpack what happened watching this film the other night and I think I figured it out. First, let me say that I thought the movie was absolutely brilliant. It’s so tense from the start and rarely lets up. Chilling score, sleek cinematography, and great performances, especially by Elizabeth Moss, who is PHENOMENAL and has cornered the market on playing women under duress! Great review :)
The scene in the bedroom where she first encounters the "invisible man" with the bedsheet, I held my breath the entire time. So expertly done!! And yes Elisabeth Moss is so great here. Thank you so much for watching!!
