How did you edit your video?
The Video was shot using Nexus 5 (2013) mobile. No special editing / processing was done on the video. Just titled it using Windows Movie maker...
Salute
nice video btw... what is this coupling jugaad? Never seen this kind of patching the gaps. Indian Railways must give utmost importance to such critical areas. No gloves or protective gear for the men. Huge respect for these men
Karthik Kumar thank you for watching and commenting...
Karthik Kumar ,, jugaad? Lol
Coupling is the most dangerous work activity for gangmen and locomotive engineers alike. The coupling doesn't always sit in precisely with it's receiving joint and the loco engineers have to struggle a lot with reversing the loco and driving it back with a slight amount of speed to drive in the coupling. During this, the communication and coordination between the loco enggr and the gangman must be precise failing which the gangman highly risks losing his life on the spot crushed between the loco and the coach.
Thank you for watching and sharing your comments, Abhijit Kashyap.
yes. if he forget himself a second.

The rail crew must be given gloves, reflective uniforms and better pay for what is a tedious yet critical job. The steam era is long gone but its high time the the jaded old khaki uniforms worn by railway workers, rickshaw and bus drivers, conductors, policemen and guards are changed to more professional, contemporary and respectable style.
Kinord the best way
Great suggestion

awesome
Thank you Pavan Pratap.
The video is good..but shocking to see them wedge metals in the gap...absolutely ridiculous... if the Indian Railways are have non standard work methods.. compromising safety with such bad practices. Shame on our engineering skills..!!
Hello Sukumar Thanks for watching the clip and sharing your comments. Even I was surprised when they put in the extra wedges... Showed the clip to a few people, but no one had an idea why they did it...
+kraviindia.. Yes it's simply a bad practice on the parts of SE (Mechanical).. one of the two couplings either in Loco or the rake is weared out and thus results in a play between the two couplings, in such cases coupling must be replaced, inducing wedges is not a good practice to tighten the joint.. this I a clear lapse on safety issues.
Quite a different coupling,.. Is there any changes made to coupling?
Not sure Rubin. This is my first recording and I had always wanted to capture the coupling and its activities up close. Shared it so that it may be of interest to other rail fans. Thanks for watching the clip.
Yeah these are called CBCs but not new. these coaches were stopped productions and normal coupler fitted coaches continued production.
Excellent capture..
Thank you Karthik Abhilash
