6' from the back of the dragster will hurt and a shit load of nitro in the face too, The DB's must be out of this world. Just sitting in the stands 50 ft away from the starting line hurts the chest..
@loudpipesavelives69 Its a calculation based on the facts available to them...with a little estimation on some things. But pretty darn close. No dyno that I've ever seen could come close to measuring this. Althought if I remember right...John Force at one time did have a dyno built to test his engines. Whether or not he still does I don't know.
@MrOmonoiatis For historical reasons--try reading up on the history of American drag racing (I'm assuming you're not American). These motors were at one time factory Chrysler Hemi V8s (some 50 years ago). At some point they were replaced with purpose-built race motors that were based on the Hemi design.
You know when people move all of Your stuff out theirs In Your house then run off and leave It then You want Your house back so You get a jig saw & cut of the metal desk & stuff so that one Person can carry It outside, dragsters are almost that loud.
My eyes sting just watching it,
Nice
the amount of noise being generated has to in excess of 145-155dbs enough to rupture eardrums completely
aka HELP ME I CANT BREATH TOO MUCH NITRO
been to Houston 20yrs. in a row -still gives me a woody--and so do the force girls, but don't tell john hed kick my ass --haha
He'll take the Force girls giving you a stiffy as a compliment.
Love top fuel by the time they are 25 feet from the starting line they at 75 mph already (approximately)
dont be leaning on dat thing why u pushing power cus one that thang get on one wheel going dat fast yall fuked

Theirs nothen like the smell of nitro fuel and the ground shaking power
;p i think that covers it
They use around 26 gallons from warm up to the end of the track
@TheLifesadream i was told they have a 14 gallon tank and they use it all in one race. Imo i dont think its quite 14
@sliceofjam100 yes raw nitro burns the eyes, and they are the loudest things I've Ever heard close up, But it's Awsome!!!!
like all over the world
how about an estimated fuel consumption lol just for fucks :P

where else do they they put 8000 hp on a car for fun?? God Bless the US
haha agreed
Put this beast on a bicycle and have the ride of ya life !
At least to you and me.
abolutely right!
this is my car, wheres yours?
This thing beats a Honda at idle.
What do Honda people have to say about that?
They would work much more efficiently if they all new sign language
thats interesting to think about actually ha
Look at Larry walking around like he knows somthin!!
I want to see a W12 to its max.
that start up is amazing
Even louder under load!
@JayBird90210 just in case it flies off the jack stands and eradicates the rest of the crew he can explain
To bad we can not smell through the net the smell of Nitro, smells like victory.
I'm just wondering why is there a guy standing behind the dragster in every video of this kind? (test/warm-up video)
@loudpipesavelives69 - It's estimated based on fuel usage and other factors.
thanks, I know these things don't have a cooling system i guess it wouldn't make sense to do a rebuild just for a dyno pull
My lawnmower!

how do they know it's 8000hp? I've never seen a dyno test for these engines... is it just a guesstimate?
@Pareidolic thanks mate

sounds like it idles at 2000 rpm
why do they use a v8 and not a v12?
1 of those verses a Bugatti
@warhammer1975 so your car have 8000 hp if u think that u drank to many miller lite's

@freefall321 have you ever been near a nitro burning top fuel car? obviously not
Put that in your honda.
Kajvaj, if you are that close you wouldnt be able to smell it. You would hardly be able to see it. raw nitro to the eyes hurts. But it's awesome!
The smell from that is just the best!
@jdog942 holy shit!!!
