Great video. I bought your book several months back. I never used Ecollars for many years until my newest dog who’s now 18 months old. Working line European Doberman. He has tremendously benefited from Ecollar training. For over 20 years I was a “balanced trainer” if you want to put a label on it. I just never used Ecollars. Nothing against it back then I just didn’t ever use one. I experimented with the purely positive training when I first brought him home from the breeder and did so for several months . I’m now having to fix A LOT of problems that caused. It didn’t benefit this dog at all and honestly caused issues I’ve never had with a dog before. He is doing very well with the Ecollar and his confidence is growing now that he is able to look to me as a confident and fair leader that can help him through life with direction instead of just a source of treats. Edit: I will be buying this video in the future. The book is great but to have a visual demonstration of the training is even better!

I have experience with training military dogs for combat and also rehabing military dogs transitioning from military life to civilian life who have ptsd. I have never used treats, prong collars or shock to train dogs. They're very crappy and ineffective technologies. Prong collars have a reliance on inducing pain and discomfort to enforce obedience, which can foster fear and anxiety rather than real connection. This fear-based approach often leads to a transactional relationship between the dog and its owner, where the dog's compliance is merely to avoid discomfort, which is not real leadership on your part. Such methods suggest to the dog's hindbrain that the owner lacks true leadership skills, relying instead on pain to command authority. This not only damages the potential for a genuine bond between the owner and the dog but can also result in long-term behavioral issues, as the dog associates obedience with negative experiences. Dogs need to have calmness, discipline, and exercise in order to be fulfilled. Otherwise they're going to continue to be neurotic even with these methods

Prong collar training is cruel! No good dog trainer would use a prong collar. Shame on u!!!!

i never see kangals on any of these lists, they’re strong, powerful breeds, and are great alert, and guard dogs. many of them bark whenever they just see a human walk past!

Not that I’ve ever owned one (so far) but as I understand it, the Doberman is the only dog breed in the world that was specifically bred to be the perfect guard dog so it should always be number one on any list like this.

What is the dog actually learning? They chase everything that moves by default these belgian malinois! It’s more about learning them what not to chase like cats and birds imo

How about steps to get a 16 week old malinois to get where that dog is now... Is it working each command individually until the dog succeeds at each, then merging the commands?

German shepards are also very imbreed and are known to have hip problems. Check eith a vet before you believe an ad on UA-cam

Great vid. Very interested to know... When you're loading the name 'scooby', should that not be for recall, and therefore asking them to reliability come to you? And where does the 'stay' command come in? OR do you just expect them to stay put until you provide another command such as ok, come or break?
