ASU hoops loses to Kansas and final football thoughts

The Sun Devils played a good first half in Lawrence, then got whacked by the Jayhawks in the second half. It was another example of how ASU men's basketball is good, but not great. After that, Mark and Colton share some final thoughts as the football season wraps up.

Mark, great show brother! It's never easyflying solo, but you made it look easy my man. If FSU and Clemson join the Big XII, it makes the Big XII on the same level as the Big Ten over night.
Thank you! I actually disagree just because the Big Ten would still have six legit powers (OSU, Mich, Pnst, Ore, UW, USC), but the Big XII would close the gap in a big way. It would be a legitimate Power Three if Clemson & FSU joined.
Y’all need another Vontaze Burfict
Absolutely lol

I think it is fair to have skepticism over the hire due to Crow and Anderson. I think there needs to be strong changes in the department; and having an internal hire when changes need to be made doesn't bode the most confidence. I hope its a good hire but as long as Crow remains the president at ASU, I am afraid athletics will always take a back seat and the important changes that need to be made wont be made. I hope that the new era in the XII can help bring about this change. Everything is changing so now is a good time to change. ASU has too much potential for it to be wasted by poor leadership. The XII could do wonders for ASU if the university embraces change and athletics.
Makes sense, I totally get that

Love for you to come on the big 12 show...
Sorry just saw this, I would be interested!
Glad to have you guys in the Huddle. Let's make this Stomp the Bus Show a massive double decker of a pod!
The fact that U of A beat Oklahoma is chalked 😒 good luck Fisch
Then get 55 hung on them by the Ducks Lol That Washington game was a fluke. Penix was clearly very sick.
No u guys are gonna beat usc
Based on asu footballs preseason rankings, they are at the bottom of the pac12. When they move to the big 12, espn wants asu to have the ncaa violations out of the way since bowl eligibility means more money in the big 12 versus less money in the pac12. It is all about the money. 20 seniors mean less to them than an ESPN Big 12 broadcasting rights. ASU is a big money university now. Guys like Jayden get 13 million is promotional rights while going to college. In words of Jerry Mcquire: show me the quan.
Baby Shark (Rashada) spreads the field with his arm strength and his legs, he can see over his O-LINE, he can pocket pass, he can scramble and run, he can read the coverages, and he matures with every rep taken. Energy (from teammates and by fans) when he's under center is 10 fold vs the others. QB1 hands down.
This video is like listening to two 12 year olds babbling!
What is this? Is this a joke? This channel makes the most exciting realignment news sound like an earthworm race! 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
ASU's '75 ceiling busting natty, snd yer new AAU will save you... Stay out of the Big Lubbock... It's a relegation TRAP! Anywhere but the Big12 until the B1G/SEC reach 25 teams each. Stick with Utah. The Wilcats are in trouble. They all rode Sundevil coattails to get into the PAC and never did squat with it. Smh. Stick with Utah.
WARNING! SAME RELEGATION MOB THAT HIT COLORADO HAS BEEN SPOTTED IN MULTIPLE B1G UNIVERSITY TOWNS 😳 Are your Big 10 media rights signed????
CU🐂: puts up worst record in PAC history... SUDDENLY RELEGATED BY THE MOB 😳
Big 12 will take Arizona, not Arizona State, so don't worry, the feeling is mutual. No one wants Arizona in the Big 12 only Arizona.
Think arizona was wait colorado to move big 12 I think arizona coming to big 12
Arizona is next and Oregon. ASU better pack your bags and get ready for the big 12. We’re conservative, create success, deals, and love football. Start to convert fast. If not, than join the mountain west and be forgotten. Your choice.
I don't buy the academics as a valid reason. The Broncos’ cumulative athletic department GPA, including all programs, improved to a school record of 3.38. Specifically, Boise State’s football team's GPA is in the top 10 percent of all Division I teams - FBS and FCS. Boise State football recorded a multi-year APR score of 979, which ranked second in the Mountain West and tied for 27th nationally amongst all FBS schools. BSU's revenue could be an issue, but the TV deals would more than make up for that. I agree with you about the snootiness. Most likely personal bias from certain board members looking extremely hard for illogical excuses to exclude them.
Not likely, but it could happen.
Great watch!
The PAC 12 needs to make and take a bigger step as the big 12 did and add 4 teams not just 2 🤔🤷♂️🧐
Is Jacob Conway a good quarterback?
You guys are clueless. I'm more confused than I was before. Lol
Frankly, I think that Dodd is FOS. The SEC deal was announced after the SEC agreed to pick up Texas and Oklahoma. The B1G's deal was announced after the B1G agreed to take USC and UCLA. I think that the Pac-12 adding the schools is a good thing.
While SMU is methodist in name, they are seperating ties from the church and a secular school.
I'm sure renouncing their faith based origin will help them revive a doomed conference
Name 3 all All Americans in football from San Diego State. SMU is a private school that doesn't draw flies. Your scraping the bottom of the septic tank to fill in for SC and UCLA . Go PAC 12
Go look up smu history they were once one of the tops teams In College football before the scandal
@@Bear520Down I don't have to look it up I lived it. That was forty years ago . They bought players trying to get fans and still couldn't. Their halfway between Austin and Norman and neither one wanted anything to do with them. I have nothing against SMU but what does it say when the watered down Big 12 didn't want them. They add nothing to a power 5 conference, nothing.
Marshall Faulk(2x), Fred Dryer, Matt Araiza are the first 3 that pop into mind... there were many others.
@@blunderbuss999 I was talkin football not beach vollyball
Where was Utah 11 years ago when they 1st entered the PAC 12? You have to start from somewhere. If these schools were so great right now they would have been in a power 5 conference decades ago. You don't need just 2 schools added to help replace UCLA in USC you need at least 4. The LA market is 2nd largest in the country who can compete with that? No one. Big 12 added 4 schools from the group of 5 the the PAC 12 needs to add at least 4 new schools. Times have changed
I didn't know Asmongold followed football.
Listening to RA presser, he (Herm’s fried) was happy with 8-5 season!!! Was happy with last 8-5 winning season! Nebraska fired 10-3 Solich(?)!!! He has had some good hire as AD (Westling 41th to 4th NCAA) (Swimming NCAA 6th place) (gymnastics top 15 team) ( Lacrosse bottom of P12 into Co-champion, he left) (Softball she also left after last season) but not firing Herm after last season, not firing T. Smith earlier, and slow to adapt NIL and changing environment is the reason why RA should get fired too along with his friend Herm!!!!
Great follow up show guys. Appreciate you guys reading the comments. You guys definitely have good knowledge and insight about the program. You guys do make me kind of old. Been a fan since '79. Just old enough to remember Kush getting fired. I totally agree with you guys about the state of the program. We are what we are. Probably a perennial 7-8 win squad. Somewhere in the middle. Some of the old school fans just won't stop clinging to the Plummer Rose Bowl years or even further back to the Kush glory days. Those times are long gone although I don't think they sky is falling either. We've never been as bad as some people perceive us nationally. I don't think we've ever had back to back years under 6 wins in a long time. I'd say 5 wins as the absolute floor and maybe 9 or 10 wins as the ceiling. NC State was a good comparison but I've always thought of ASU as the Michigan St. of the Pac10/12. Maybe a year or 2 every decade with double digit wins. One or 2 years of 4-5 wins a game. And the rest of the decade somewhere between 6-8 wins. Hopefully this NCAA either blows over or gets addressed soon. Tired of being in limbo. Again good show guys. Appreciate it. Hopefully more to follow
Great shows guys. Some very interesting points. However I do not agree that going to the Big 12 would help ASU in any way. Diminished recruiting in So Cal would not be replaced by Texas leftovers. Basically we would be getting scraps. Doesn't make sense to lose that pipeline which is right next door to So Cal and trade it for a pipeline into a different region that despite what you say isn't really that close. Dallas is closer to Atlanta than it is to Phoenix. All the Texas schools, Okie school, most every SEC school, a few big 10 schools and even schools like Iowa St. and K-state hell even Colorado would be ahead of us in the pecking order. Rather have an alliance with the ACC. We've established that geography and travel cost don't matter so it's not as far fetched as some of these other scenarios. If we go to the Big 12 not only do I see California kids bailing I also see local kids leaving even more than they already are. What's the pitch gonna be? Well we're not playing in the Coliseum or the Rose Bowl anymore. No more trips to Autzen, Washington Stadium or the Farm. But hey you get to go to Lubbock, Stillwater, Waco, Ames and Manhattan Kansas. Plus an exciting trip to Disney World every 3rd or 4th year. Trust me we'd be relegated to 2 star Texas leftovers. Plus we'd have to hire another Texas coach. Rather not do that again. Graham was a bad culture here. Hate to say it but you're right about one thing. We'll be pretty much irrelevant in any of these scenarios. I'd rather be irrelevant in my own region with familiar foes that in region we'd be an outlier in. Plus Tempe would be like Berkeley compared to most of the schools in the Big 12. As bad as their off the field politics are just as bad would be the politics of the conference. Have no interest in old SWC or Big 8 backyard skimishes. Has nothing to do with us. Couldn't care less about back yard pissing matches because of who's granddaddy went to Texas Tech or Baylor. Zero interest. Oh well. Either way we're screwed in so many way. It'll never happen but the irony is the AZ schools would be a great cultural fit in the Big 10. Most people here are either from California or somewhere in the Midwest. Sad but our lack of leadership probably prevented this from being a possibilty. Cool show. Hope you guys do more
Texas Tech used to be in the Border Conference with y'all, many years ago. So, there is some history there.
A long time ago when ASU was known as ASC a small teachers college. Teams like Hardin Simmons were in that conference. Not relevant at all today. No offense but right away I know it would be a bad cultural fit. When you address us as y'all that tells me right away it's not a good fit. We're not in a "y'all" part of the country. Sorry to tell YOU GUYS
