Well what a blast from the past this was!
So here we can see the last remaining 4100 series Trident, and the last Y reg one. It may be old, ancient or whatever else you want to call it but the memories of this bus come rushing back to some, including me. Plus it meets up to the modern day standards, equipped with a Euro 6 Cummins engine mated to a Voith which makes this roar like a beast! This was certainly a pleasurable experience for me to catch this straight on the 10 all the way down to Brownhills West. Now, a nostalgic and favourite quirk of mine has to be the textured handlebars which buses like this, 4449 (a deep-hearted favourite of mine) & others had, which makes 4125 a new favourite of mine alongside the beastly unit this had in the back. A cool thing I liked about this too is how old school this was (no sh*t Sherlock), with the very dated Travel West Midlands moquette & interior this had. The livery certainly complements it too, with the TWM logo on the sides and the front and back having the old style National Express West Midlands logo back more commonly on the Red/White livery.
It’s certain to say this is an awesome piece of history in the National Express fleet, and I’m very privileged to even have the chance of catching this heritage bus before it is withdrawn from the NXWM fleet to put to rest.
