Do you have to login to the ship's captive wifi login page each time or does it remain connected, so long as the power on the TP-Link stays connected?

Do we need wifi connection to start setting up the travel router before we connect it to the ship wifi?

Hi Captain Kevin, thank you so much for this video, it's very helpful. My family and I will be cruising on MSC seascape soon. Can you please let me know if i should start setting up the router box before we board the ship like at home then just connect when we board the ship. Or should we wait and do everything while onboard.

As I am reading on some of the ships prohibited list, routers are becoming one of them. Are you concerned that they would confiscate your router once you are on board?

Wouldn't it be better to first sign in to the ship's Wi-Fi with a phone and then clone the MAC of the phone to the router, and then login to the router with the phone? This way you could turn the router off when you are not in the room and use the phone elsewhere on the ship. As long as the ship's connection does not see the same MAC twice I don't think there would be a problem.

I am wondering about a couple of things...Once we set the router up and assuming that it stays in the stateroom for the duration, what about one single device that we might be carrying around on the ship? Will that device connect and "bump" the router off? Note: I plan to buy 2 devices/1 person, even with the travel router. That way, I am thinking that I can stay connected, out of the stateroom, with one of the phones. Should I do the initial setup of the travel router using my laptop, instead of using one of my other devices, such as the phone?

Hi, interesting review, we will be traveling on the same ship soon and I have a question. Is there drinking water in the cabins that is delivered every day or do we have to go to a bar? In general, how is this issue with drinking water settled?
