I am a Vintage 4x4 vehicle enthusiast. It all started with restoring a 1945 Ford GPW WWII Jeep as a father/son project in 2004. Since that first Flat Fender Jeep I've restored other WWII Military Jeeps, WWII Military Dodge trucks, and Flat Fender era Civilian Jeeps of the 40s and 50s. This Hobby has led me to meet great people with similar interests from across the country and the world. This Hobby has also lead me on amazing trips off road and on road across the USA and Europe. This is all just a Hobby and I am learning as I go along. I'm not trying to make this a how to channel, I'm just sharing my experiences. Thanks for Watching!

In this video I am installing the tub on the CJ3A, installing the headlights, and installing a winch. I’m also modifying the steering system by installing a Ford reverse style steering box from a Bronco II, modifying the stock steering column to accept a u-joint, and adding linkage between the new steering box and steering column. #Flatfender #WillysJeep #CJ3A #rockcrawler

This is a 1935 Ford Marmon Herrington truck. 1935 was the first year Marmon Herrington started doing all wheel drive conversions on Ford Trucks. Most of the Early all wheel drive conversion trucks went to the government for Military service. I was told that this truck started it's service in 1935 on an Air field in California and last served in the Lassen County, CA fire district in the 1950s. ...

The Ultimate Transmission for a Flat Fender Jeep with an L134
Переглядів 14 тис.Рік тому
I had a broken thread for the shift tower bolt on the T90 in my 1946 CJ2a Two Step. I was going to pull the transmission and repair the hole or replace the case and I decided to do a T18 transmission swap. The T18 is a four speed transmission with granny low which is a popular transmission for trail Jeep that do some rock crawling. I contacted Aaron Holdaway and bought one of his T18 which he c...

Flat Fender Jeeps and one Funny Fender Jeep take on the Lost Sierra North of Truckee California. All the Jeeps were stock go-devil engines except for one M series Military Jeep that had an F head. All the Jeeps were stock except one Jeep was a locker stocker GPW Jeep. We explored abandon gold mines and drove around some beautiful country in the High Sierras. The highest point we drove was about...
1935 Ford V8 Model 51 Fire Truck

A friend heard about a small fire truck collection that the owner had passed away. The heirs wanted to clear the fire trucks out of the warehouse and suggested to just haul them to the scrappers. I decided to take a 1935 Ford Fire Truck and we found people to take the other Fire Trucks so they were all saved. I decided to make some modifications to my trailer to make it easier to recover the Tr...
T24 Studebaker Weasel, a new addition to the Motor Pool

This is a T24 Studebaker Weasel personnel carrier that was designed and built during WWII. The person I bought it from said it hadn’t run in many years. This video is when it was delivered, the first start up, and a quick walk around. My plan is to go through the Weasel mechanically and do a Motor pool restoration so that it will be a reliable runner. Also I plan on replacing the tracks with re...

Where did you get the winter top from? Great video!
Beachwood Canvas
What paint did you use, that it is not shine? I like it. I think the gloss paint just doesn’t look great on these.
I used Rapco paint Strata Blue.
Would u sell any body’s?
Nice job, Lucky is a really great looking jeep! 👍 Is there a reason for running heavy duty springs with 10-11 leaves on a trail rig compared to the lighter ones with 8-9 leaves?
The only reason I would put heavy duty leaf springs is if I have a winch or heavier engine than stock, something that would cause the lighter 8-9 leaf springs to sag.
Great videos.
. Lindos jeeps dos anos cinquenta tenho vontade de comprar um desses modelos meu sonho 🙏🙏 ..

Some big twists, hear the fan in the shroud in several places. Great video
This was a really fun run!
what did you do with the rear axle breather hole that is by the driver side u bolts on the axle tube? you have a breather on the diff cover.
My back hurts just watching this video!!!
This is cool i had an old jeep kind of a mix of stock parts from mid 60s. V6 3 spd .ran the rubicon several times . Then i started charging things V8 4 spd bigger a les started breaking alotta stuff. I should have justleft it
Looking like a blast, definitely challenging, tracks, the old Landrover did a great job ,beautiful weather, thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones
This was such a fun day trip, short but sweet ! I really like this trail both for camping trips and day trips like this one, though next time I need my soft top on for the chilly morning drive down from Placerville HaHa!!
It's been a long time since I ran Slick Rock. One of my favorite trails of all time. We would run it up to the lake, then turn around and run it back down the hill, just like you guys did. I've got to get back up there! Thanks for the video! Good Luck!
Makes you understand why the jeep replaced the horse. Love seeing these little things go and constantly win.
Looks like another beautiful day, challenging, trax the rigs look quite capable, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones

Thank you Ernie for putting this awesome video together and more importantly, putting together an awesome week! Memories that I will never forget and hope to repeat!!
GOOD JOB MEN carry on!
What size tires are most of you guys running? I have 7.00x16 on my M38 but I haven’t been around enough flat fenders to tell on video. Is most of the running gear stock Willys?
@@jameshinkle3318 they all are 7.50x16, the running gear is various modifications to provide lockers and some way of lowering the gear ratio.
The "Dusty" Ershim ! It was a great trip, but next time I'd like to hit it earlier in the season for less dust. Next time I'm also bringing my little heater for hose frosty nights!! Thanks for doing a great job on this video, I like the perspective of the camera in the back of "Lucky", like being a passenger in the back of the Jeep.
I was going to watch this until I saw the guy wearing a mask in the Forrest.
@@OnAny4day it was a really dusty trail!
mask or not, that guys nuts are bigger than your biceps.
Wow that’s bad ass great video
This should have a million likes! 🇺🇲🤠
That looks like my kinda trail! What a blast that must have been! Thanks for posting. 👍🏻
So is there any ROCKY SECTIONS on this trail???
@@CORNDODGER just a few rocky places, probably could be done in a Prius🤣
@@EJOWest Just air down the tires a little.
You guys must be wrenching tons to have them performing as well as they are
Awesome driving and videography! I loved it when Dave saved the rollover with his hand. But I would have done this on a motorcycle! Did any of the jeeps have stock tranny, diffs, and no additional skid pans?"
We call these type of rigs Locker Stockers. They are built specifically with this type of trail in mind. They look stock but all have lockers installed in the front and rear diffs, some kind of modifications to the gearing and extra skid protection.
Looks like a beautiful weekend for a cruise, your rig seems to being running great, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Funny, at 21:43 the video makes that look flat. That section is steep as hell!
Sometimes the cameraman (Dave) didn't have the camera level with the horizon so the steepness could be seen. I was impressed he performed as well as he did and was not in a fetal position the whole time!
That was fun to watch. Gr8 editing Ernie!! Can’t wait for the next installment!!
Thank you for sharing. So cool.
What a workout!!
Do you know of anyone needing a jxd hercules engine. I have one in reasonable shape.
I need one of these!
We just added a T24 to our collection. Little Boy Ventures
Great job, thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones
Great work Sir!! Was that a kit you bought or parts ya scrounge up? As always thank you so much for sharing what ya do, I’ve learned so much. I hope to get get my cj5 back on the trail soon! I live above pioneer ca.
A freind of mine machined a small GM D44 spindle to fit a Dana 30 hub. We bolted the hub onto the axle housing flange to make a full floating axle. Then I measured up and ordered the Dutchman flanged axles. So it we pieced it together.
Short and sweet.
I've tried for years to find a "flattie", never ended up with one, closet I got was a CJ5. Love the "5's".

You need to talk louder or get yourself a microphone I can't hear What you are say I'm just a friendly comment
Thank you for the input
Man, I’d love a vehicle from that collection. A jeep or dodge would be fun.
What brand springs do you suggest my cj2as are flat thanks
Most of my Jeeps I use Crown stock style leaf springs. I do splurge on Bilstein shocks though. I’ve found they make a big difference in the comfort of the ride especially off road!
Great job, like new, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Nice job as always!
Very ,very good works 👏👏👏👏👏
