The Shortest Straw - Metallica (rough?) Drum cover by Tucker Lockley
This one is one of my top favorite tracks from my favorite and the most iconic metal band of all time... Metallica. If it was not for Metallica I would probably not be the musician/music enthusiast that I am today. I've been wanting to cover this song since 2016 and I've attempted but now finally got around to truly disecting and learning it. I usually try not to post drum covers that I only feel partially satisfied with, (some areas need work) but I got too eager with this one and for now I'm too tired of playing a near 7 minute song over and over again... so here we are. Perhaps I'll re-record a better version at a later time. I still worked pretty hard on it and I'll deem it as a rough take for now so hope you all enjoy. Mabus - "Care to Drag?" from their LP "Cheers, to Doomsday Gloom" re-released on @SilentPendulumRecords It will be a year next month since I recorded this, but better late than never... this cover is from a very musically talented and all around swell group of gents called MABUS from Highland Falls, New York. I first met a baby Mabus back in 2002 ish? At one of the best local venues at the time...

I don't blame ya, Shadow Dancer is a tough game to beat with the one hit deaths compared to the other Shinobi games... I've only beat Shadow Dancer maybe once or twice..."Statue of Liberty" is definitely on the list and it is a tough song drum wise to say the least, hopefully I can get to it eventually... I just have so many other drum covers I'm trying to master performing and record at the moment. Lol The next Shinobi drum covers will more likely be from Shinobi III "Return of the Ninja Master"... that soundtrack is also killer. Thank you for the positive feedback. Cheers! 😸🤘🤘

Thanks! I'm not even sure how much of the song I played accurately... I changed a lot of it to make it sound more "metal" lol. Coming up with those parts was the challenge but, just had to feel it out then rehearse it all until it felt right... then as always, hope for the best once the record button gets pushed. 😹🙏
