The Mustard Drink
The Mustard drink is a creation brewed in a small town trailer and could change the world in horrible ways if its composition could be reverse engineered. This video is my attempt to revive a monster.
I recorded this video over two years ago and after a number of technical issues and over thinking it, I have decided to just post it, maybe I will feel like I can make videos again that it's off my plate.

    Well this video should get paid in recommendation DIVIDENDS, lemme help by liking and commenting. First, my bias. I like Johnny. I don’t agree with per se the narratives shown on youtube that he is a biased journalist pushing an agenda. If that is true, which it could be, then all political journalists and commentators are guilty of this. Me included. I think all art and ‘content’ is propaganda. Completely neutral word here, it just means it is a emotionally evocative video that plays fast and loose with facts and beliefs. That is the point. I fashion myself as a creative, and I have accepted this personally for years. That said, I think POLITICAL propaganda (which is treated very differently then regular propaganda) is everywhere, so it is important to take it with a grain of salt. Second, I think Video Essays are categorically propaganda. They check all the boxes and the modern definition needs to broaden up anyway. Edutainment is ‘practically’ a euphemism for Propaganda, just one that is socially ‘acceptable’. And that is a problem. A video from Tom Nichols about Johnny rubs me the wrong way, circling this back to politics, because it is both political and uncited. It could be cited via a paywall, but I feel like if you hide your sources behind a paywall, you do not care about being objective, showing truth or depth, or just plainly are using ‘basic’ sources. Citing a new article is now much different from citing an academic one. Third, related to the above. Johnny now cites his sources for most new videos, but to be fair, they are all easily misconstrued and sort of surface level sources. That is not unusual among political essayists, but even citing a source is not enough if it is not complete, or correct. I think Johnny’s ‘biggest sin’ is that he normalized video essays without sources. Two years (almost 3 in september of this year) and we have gotten worse with citing sources, not better! UA-cam sucks at even fact checking claims for certain niche claims so it is now a mix of AI content farms and incredibly shallow videos under 15 minutes that are more puff pieces then not. Finally, I know the propaganda is hard to spot, regardless if it is political or not. Don’t be discouraged by it. You are Human. Humans try to be reasonable and logical, but we all fall victim of propaganda that…plays us. Artistically, Socially, Politically, etc. Ask yourself two questions when you see a video essay that has no source. 1. Is the intent of not showing their sources to me an effort to hide them or to distract that they have none in the first place? 2. If they have no sources, but speak from anecdote, experience or something more intangible, does that testimony ring with any cognitive biases/fallacies you can spot? That is all, thank you for coming to my ted talk. Love the Ramen shirt! ❤

    Yeah I have recently rewatched those J + T vids, and the ones with Magnus etc, and they still kill. I think perhaps in future they will slowly reset and bury the hatchet. Tom.. wherever you are.. stay creative! Many people would like to see you bringing your style to content again. If you're concerned that juji fans are disappointed, maybe making friends again would resolve that. You're both good people, Juji knows that. I'm sure at least a friendship is possible in the future months or years, with age and wisdom :)

Their content was sooo fun and entertaining…. and it was refreshing seeing a couple friends strike it BIG….. and I still follow SO MANY PEOPLE that they introduced me to….. Magnus Midtbø, Anton Fomenko, Stefi Cohen, Martins Licis, Brian Shaw, Eric Bugenhagen!, DEVON LARATT!!, Thor, Houston Jones, 135 pound rock climber haha, John Meadows (RIP), Larry Wheels, & Clarence Kennedy!!…… aww, just recounting those names made me sad haha…. 😪

    I found this video while looking to see if Tom is putting any content out.. But tbh, I never had a whole lot of love for Tom. Don't get me wrong, he was a talented youtuber and editor and they made a good team but the stuff Tom was up to behind the scenes was awful.. downright neurotic. Dude has a screw loose and I just sensed that he was off, especially after he threw a tantrum and forced Juji to change the channel name to "Tom and Juji" for a while.. The thing is, Juji was and is the real talent. He's an exceptional human being, not just for his physique or athletic ability but as an overall person. His camera presence doesn't always represent it, but the guy is a downright scholar, one of the smartest people I know. He's passionate, hard working and disciplined.. He's just on another level and Tom struggled with that internally.. I believe he resented Juji for many reasons and it resulted in a sense of entitlement once Tom started taking credit for all their success.. As you can probably tell, I'm quite the fan of Juji, been following him online for twenty years now. In 2003, I discovered his website "trickstutorials." He built it when he was 17 and he created the most in depth backflip tutorial on the internet. It probably still stands as the best to this day, alongside many other tutorials, from diet and training programs to step by step trick tutorials. I idolized Jon as a kid, he played a HUGE hand in my development as an adolescent and helped make me into who I am today. The knowledge he bestowed on me back then was incredible, I remember him responding to me in the TT forums and it was as if Jesus himself had acknowledged me 😂. That's why I'm extremely proud to see how far he's come. In 20 years, I've watched him go from managing a small tricking community of a few hundred members to being a massive fitness youtuber. It's awesome. ...and to be frank, Tom was just riding his coattails. Juji started building what he has loooong before Tom ever entered the picture. Tom was good at what he did, but Juji was going to make it with or without him. That's a fact.

    Good video. I’m still subscribed to juji, but I’m really bored of his new content, it’s too generic. Tom brought something really creative and chaotic into the videos. Would love to see new videos from him.

    • @huntertpk
      @huntertpk 2 роки тому

      I think juji under estimated the workload/understanding that Tom had when it came to structuring/planning out videos. I think juji could have continued to succeed without Tom, but he would have needed to find someone to help him who understood the space even a fraction as much as Tom did. Juji does a lot of stuff, from merch, grip genie, making programs, events, etc. Trying to add UA-cam planning on top of that was too much, and his new editors aren't as ingrained into UA-cam/fitness as him or Tom

    Tom's split from the channel just proved everything he ever said about the channel true The channel was what it was because of his video ideas, his editing and the way he and Juji bounce off of each other. Without him the channel is clearly in a much worse state than it was when he was a part of it. That's clearly reflected in the channel struggling to even consistently get 100K views aside from the rare freak viral trend they manage to climb onto. Juji can't carry the channel alone, he's not charismatic enough to do it alone, Bryan's editing is noticeably worse than Tom's was and the videos are just bland now

    • @huntertpk
      @huntertpk 2 роки тому

      Juji just isn't built for UA-cam content, he can't put enough time into it for it to be beneficial. He also just doesn't understand UA-cam as well as Tom did, and neither does juji's new editor. It's unfortunate really, I would have liked to see juji find his place in making content but I'm not sure if he will

    Hey Dude, Although it is an old video, I appreciate you put a spotlight on this Citation problem with Johnny Harris. From the comment section I see there are still people defending him. It makes me sigh. Some note for you if you plan to make videos on Johnny Harris. The worst part of the whole situation is that Johnny Harris does himself a big disservice not citing sources. Citation is not just politeness or just leaving a papertrail. Citation creates community. If he cites someone, not only is he transparent about his process with his audience (which would make him more serious and credible as a journalist) but he also brings his audience to the actual work of research that has been done. And you know what, he could gained more out of it than charging his patreons for the freference list of his videos. He could have contacted Tom Mullaney for more information or interviewed him. He did not need to go out of his way to aggregate and read and synthesize all those sources! He could have saved time and have avoided language mistakes in his video on the Chinese Keyboard! Heck, he could have attracted other experts from historians to economists and created a whole network of expertise and knowlegde for him to exploit. He could have honed his skills as a journalist in that network and maybe learned something directly from experts! It is such a missed opportunity!

    Gotta love SARM’s all the health risks and organ stress of actual steroids for one tenth of the results smh if you’re gunna take something (dumb AF in my opinion unless you’re literally competing) why not just take the tried and tested, decades of experience/research anabolics that you know the side effects for rather than the less effective sketchy research chemical just because “oh they’re not steroids” like you’re risking all that for very little return just because real steroids seem scary? If you’re scared of them why the fuck you taking even less researched “replacement” options smh. (Not that I think teenagers should be taking real gear either like wtf we don’t need 13 year olds on Tren XD just pointing out how illogical the use of SARM’s is, literally same risk far less reward)

  • @burgermind802

    I used sarms and a one foot in the door to actual anabolics… they definitely don’t have the results of anabolics but have some of the same side effects…. If your above the age of 21 (imo some say 25) and don’t want a needle in ur cheeks it’s a good stepping stone

    • @user-ns3vs3bp3e
      @user-ns3vs3bp3e 2 роки тому

      And this is proof people take SARM’s because they don’t know anything about gear smh. There are plenty of oral anabolic cycles that have way more research done on them, way better results and far better information about long term effects/how to reduce side effects. If you’re going to take something take a well known steroid that you at least know the side effects etc will be and gives you the best outcome for the organ stress you’re putting your body through. Imo it’s never worth it but if you’re gunna do it at least take the stuff people have been using for decades not the sketchy research chemical with inferior results and the same health impacts.

      I did mention that I proceeded to watch a bunch of his videos before making this one, I did not make this video of the basis of the one video, but I did use his two most recent videos at the time as examples

      There is something call not watching a video. Sounds crazy, I know but many people has done it maybe you have done it too. He is not wasting anyone time. You are wasting you time by clicking into the video. He has valid criticism. If you are making an explanation video and don't put sources in the description for the people who wants to fact check, so doesn't it sounds suspicious.
