This little film was created as my entry into one of my local movie club's film challenges. The task was to create a film to the Soul Limbo tune, which is probably more generally recognised as the theme tune for televised cricket. A film set to a version of Arirang (an old Korean folk song) performed by Jablonsky. I've tried to capture the gentle nature of the performance by shooting everything in slow motion and highlighting the dramatic visual moments by introducing the roaring sound of the waterfall. The title gives a clue to the shooting location. :-)

A short time spent around the railway station at Shimla. This is one of the famous Indian "toy trains" and was built by the British during the days of the Raj. During the summer months Shimla became the seat of the British government of India, when they would leave the heat of Delhi and decamp to the cooler climate of the Himalayan foothills.

A movie shot on and around the High Level Bridge, which connects Newcastle and Gateshead by road and rail. I try to capture the continuing haunting and romantic nature of the bridge and its environs.
The Last Bridge

A record of the removal, during 2015 - 2016, of the last road bridge over the former track bed of the railway to the long demolished Consett steelworks. Showing the extensive use made of this link within the local Leadgate community, was this the removal of a traffic bottleneck or did it mark the end of an era?

Thanks for your comments. I'd read that this bridge, the last one in Leadgate forming part of what was once the old rail link to Consett steelworks, was to be demolished. The whole civil engineering project took far longer than scheduled and it was difficult to anticipate when major events (such as the removal of the decks) were going to take place. I took to always having a movie camera with me and driving past the site almost daily for 18 months or so. You can never have too much material. The only problem is deciding what to use in the final edit!
