I had a 1973 XJ12 years ago, virtually the same car but with the V12 engine. I absolutely LOVED the old analogue dashboard with all the switches and gauges, always reminded me of an aircraft cockpit.👍 The twin fuel tanks with separate fuel pumps and changeover switch always struck me as a bit odd though.

Nice looking car! Wished for convertible, never found one worth the money they wanted. I had a Corsa with too much damage to safely put back on the road, so I built a 65 140 4spd Monza as a Corsa, my daily driver for fifteen years, currently not on the road. I don't want to make you feel bad, but there are some things I noticed. It has either had an engine replacement, or started life as a Monza. The hood is badged for a 140 (4 carb) engine. The 2 carb you have is 110hp (in 1965). Check the body serial number. It should begin with 10767 for a Corsa convertible, although a Monza MIGHT be 10767. If it's 10567, it was definitely born a Monza and has been rebadged with exterior emblems and Corsa dash and glovebox, horn button and hub caps. It seems you are missing the convertible model "cocktail shaker" oil-filled spring dampers in the rear corners. Convertibles had hydraulic dampers installed in each corner for ride quality. I hope you didn't pay a premium to buy it as a Corsa. Nice work on the paint and interior, and the top operating! Good to see it still on the road.

First of all, the Corsa is either a turbo or a 4 carb motor. You have a swapped motor.

Unfortunately, the Federal Exhaust Gas Fun Ban Ordinance (BABVVO) and Transport Tourism Emission Restriction Federal Ordinance (TEBBVO) will soon ban driving combustion engines in public outside of proven commuter trips and transport trips, because then exhaust gas fun WILL be a traffic offense!!!!!! Furthermore, a vehicle tax of 30,000 euros for exhaust gas-emitting combustion engines was threatened!!!!!!

Stunningly beautiful, in every way! I have dreamt of owning a XJ-12 Vanden Plas (We had them in Canada) for 40 years. I just bought a mint 2005 XJ8 Vanden Plas, with only 49000 miles on it. Even though my XJ is "better" than the 1983 version, I could see myself irrationally trading it for one of these Series III V12s. They are just that special! Congratulations!

Love your white on black interior. I had 2 coupes. A tired 66, and a 69 - both black, the 69 stunningly straight and deep black original paint. My older brother had 3, count 'em 3 convertible Monza's and all 3 were stolen in the early 70's right in front of his apartment in the Bronx. Always wanted a convertible, but they were pricey by late 70's compared to what I paid for the 2 Coupes. I was going to build one really great car, but ended up letting them go, along with a 71 VW van with Corvair Power. Is your engine missing on one or more cylinders? Mine both ran smooth as silk. Just curious, it's a beautiful car!

According to the federal HESCHLAVVO law, it is already forbidden in Switzerland to drive combustion engines on mountain passes from 2025. In France, the SCHLABOUBVE regulates that fossil vehicles that produce fine dust are prohibited in all cities from 2025. The BABVVO in Germany will exhaust gas pollution from 2027 and that is what will happen in entire EU also bann of all tires and brakes because of fine dust!!!

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning vehicles any more!!!!!

These XJ’s and R. R. Silver Cloud 111 are in my humble opinion some if the most beautiful sedans to ever grace the road !

The most beautiful car in the world, IMHO, with the smoothest and most satisfying engine, albeit a gas guzzler. I had the Daimler version of this 25 years ago. Only cost me £1,000! Dark blue, yours is light blue. Wish I hadn't given it up. You never need a therapist with these. Driving one is pure therapy in itself.
