hahahahaha. some stuff with every new camera. yes. just think right in a business way. when its your work. when iss your hobby. just buy it and have fun :)
Mate, if you would’ve showed me those spec interviews, with me as a potential client… brother, I wouldn’t hire you!!! Ever!!!
Hey I watched your Tavi Lupu video and i like that golden key light look you got on the interview segments. 👍🏻
Dude just stop this is going to be a great camera for film makers that done have the money.
Truth bombs so serious they should be banned by Geneva Convention, stellar video, keep it up!
This can be said about any camera so why this one? Do you do a video like this for every new camera that comes out? Is this just a clickbait title? 👎🏼
new gear more clients that's what happens in my country, so if you have money to do so sale your old ones for new ones
Literally this applies to EVERY single new camera haha… pointless video 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Great video - I appreciate the attention to detail, the footage looks great. Question- Maybe I missed it, but what lenses are you using for your A and B cams? Thanks!
Thanks Mark! I think for this shoot I had the Canon RF 24-70 on the A Cam set around 50mm or 60mm. And on the B cam it was the Canon RF 50mm 1.8 on aps-c, so it was like an 80mm field of view.
Some good info in here, keep that headshot content coming!
Thanks Gary!
I love that list!
Thanks Gary! Always appreciate the views!
hey what are you using to mount your t2c to the c-stand
How did you get tethering to work on the R6 II? I'm guessing you're using Capture One and not Lightroom for editing?
Love it! I would really appreciate it if you can tell me how you power the 600d. Is it just wall plug? Or do you use a surge protector or maybe like a delta pro or some sort of power bank?
Came for the 600D info but stayed for the lighting and staging insight! 🤙
wow what a clickbate, nobody should hire you as a dop. skibidi video
1:45 and, here you have it, folks, doing free work just to build up a résumé - the race to the bottom.🤦🏻♂️ This mind shift of being a creative is not about chasing the dollar, it’s chasing the dream. If you have to buy equipment just so that you can get a client, rent it. The only reason why you should buy equipment is to flex your creative muscle as a storyteller, or a production studio. Don’t sell yourself short.
😂😂😂
Dude, I appreciate what you're trying to say but for me (for example), I edit in Resolve and moved over from Final Cut Studio when things started consolidating. Mirrorless cams started kicking in and I went in on Lumix then on Fuji (which I own to this day - XT4). Resolve is a complete workflow for me. All I've ever wanted was something simple and pro in a camera body without Red-like cost - like Pyxis. I was always on the verge of getting Red (especially Komodo X). Now Pyxis! This is what I'ev been waiting for. I didn't like the other form factors. I can trick this camera out the way I want to. I can care less about what the other cam manufacturers are doing now. Blackmagic just blew things up and brought more people into the fold with this move. From capture, edit/fx, audio, color and delivery, this is it (for me). You see, I don't have any brand baggage so this is absolutely the bomb for me. And, the price? OMG. I'll make due..... Your comments about business. I understand. You're sharing your perspective. But, the reality is, we're talking about new equipment dropped at NAB. People make decisions in this window. If they're in the market for new equipment, BMD just got on their radar with a slew of new stuff!
He starts with i shoot corporate and then proceeds to diss a cinema camera.
I will buy 😊😊
1) you assume 2) miniscule saving for the same image 3) you still need a camera to do spec work
What a pointless take. Clearly just for video content for youtube
Mitch, after this video I think many of us lost all respect for your work, it is evident that you just want to get more clicks, you don't provide any genuine arguments to support your view, your philosophy is just marketing for the sake of marketing. I think that was a bad move because many of us who are interested in genuine reviews and opinions will find that we cannot take you seriously. Maybe, for now, you will get a lot of clicks but, believe me, nobody who is seriously interested in filmmaking tech will take you seriously anymore, you have jeopardize your career as a youtuber just for a brief moment of pseudo fame without considering that the most important asset in this business is how much we can trust the content creator. I honestly think nobody can take you seriously anymore after this opportunistic and superficial post.
One more reason: the cost of media is going to be significant in the long run. The lack of ProRes will make this a difficult camera to use for long form work. Love the form factor but I'll wait for a Pro version with NDs and ProRes.
ProRes and ND filters would have made this a camera that more fits the corporate work that I do.
But why do you have to wait until the PYXIS comes for you make a decision to upgrade other equipment you mentioned, If someone decides to buy the PYXIS they have a reason for that. I would buy the PYXIS reason is its a Full Frame and it has various Lense Mount options, for i have EF lineup of lenses and i own a Pocket 4K and 6K so upgrading to a Full Frame is a plus for me. So this Camera is not For everyone. Always specify to the people you are targeting on your Titles coz it's misleading. Not buying a PYXIS over a Soft box is a lame excuse. The message is good but you r sending it to the wrong audience.
Another Sony baby 🤣🤣🤣 but it's weird though that we don't hear this horse shit when any other company releases a new expensive camera with the same specs as the BM Cameras! This guy got his views and engagements now.
Okay this is useless.
This was great! I never do photography but, I learned some thing with the umbrellas getting rid of the glasses glare! Great vlog Mitch!
Thanks for watching Jared!
You should've been a cinematographer rather than a "videographer", consider that before you do a whole video hating on the best camera on the market. Plus, anyone can do aa corporate video with a cell phone.
Took the words out of my mouth
SMH! Bro!!!
debbie downer
While I'm pretty excited about this camera, im gonna wait until I know what the sensor readout is in open gate. No one is talking about it so i suspect its probably the same as the BMCC 6K which isnt very good
I will be very interested to see what people think once this is in the real world. I would love to have open gate on my canon cameras but I doubt that’s happening anytime soon!
Someone who tries to get views by shitting on something he didn't even try
I do need a camera so I'm not upgrading. It's 6K full frame so it has some future proof too it. The price is a lot less than a FX6. I think it is a really good option especially if you are starting out. I understand and agree with everything you said. Do you think it would be a good first camera? Like someone that just left film school and is looking for a documentary and or corporate and or narrative camera? It seems like all the other cameras are more expensive with less resolution.
I think this would be a great first camera, especially for narrative work. Black magic has really good user interface features and excellent image quality. I will say for corporate work, only having one xlr input is discouraging, but an external recorder would go great with it.
Purchased 3 years ago bmpc4k and still keeping it and not planing to upgrade. I better invest in lenses and light
Love to hear it!
First video I come across and probably the last. No substance but a click baity title. Don't fall for the trap!!
I would swapt those unbrelas for a Beauty Dish and a Rectangular softbox, your lighting would be more interesting and nicer.
I have a 24” beauty dish I use all the time. Love those things! Often for these corporate shoots I’m trying to match a similar lighting technique to a previous photographer that the business liked, so that’s part of why I went with the umbrellas.
Using Blackmagic Pyxis in the title compared to the message of this video is disappointing clickbait. Not a good way to gain trust or new followers.
it's not even that expensive... it's also designed for a specific kind of user and they prolly know if they need it or not.
The 4th reason why you shouldn't watch this channel! What a waste of my precious time! THEN DON'T BUY IT!!!
So basically, for people who are lazy listening to that close to 3 minute video, here's what it says: "you should not buy this camera so you can put your money elsewhere". Mmm-kayyyyy...?
meaningless reasons just saying you buy other things. he has no clue on the new camera.
maybe it is not for you
We dont enjoy your video, its a time waste to watch, im tired of watching this kind of videos against pyxies, the reason should be this " i dont want to get this camera because i belong to sony group and i dont like it." Or " i wanted to get this camera no matter what you say" people are so tiring common. Pyxies is for serious film makers.
oooh yes not people with limited ideas
One more UA-camr saying the same old shit every time there’s a new camera 😂
business owner with under 1k subscribers. Why many of this nowadays. Pretend to be pro, merely just to get viewers. Desperate
😆😆😆😆😆 I know right?? They've never shot a movie but they always giving their opinion.
Great advice but click baiting. Nothing to do specifically with the PYXIS. .....Using a "New Camera" for views is the same as buying "New Camera" for new clients.
Thanks for the feedback!
Did having the bare bulbs in the ad200s like that cause a ton of spill into the room since it wasnt all shooting into the umbrella?
I prefer the bare bulbs on the ad200 over the included fresnel head because it fills the umbrella a lot more. I use shoot through umbrellas AND bounced umbrellas a lot. For corporate style headshots like these, I like that I can control spill a little more with bounced rather than shoot through umbrellas. If I’m worried about glare from glasses or reflections from say a window or mirror in the background of a shot, then I’ll usually go with a bounced umbrella.
What a stupid, stupid video. ‘Three reasons why not to buy this camera’ and none of them have anything to do with this actual camera. Click bait like this totally turns me off any UA-camr . Three reasons not to watch this UA-camr - this video is one of them.
Nope… I’m gonna buy it
That’s great! I’m sure it will be a perfect camera for a lot of people.
Your logic would apply to buying any new camera - why apply it to the new BM?
I think the hype of a new camera release can sometimes make people lose perspective on what they actually need for their business. I’ve been guilty of buying new products I didnt need and I thought this video might help a few people in that same boat.
I agree with you. Reason #1 for this video.... Click bait
@@lazorkophotographythen title the video and make the video about any camera versus just BM. Did you do the same for Sony? RED? Canon? When they released new cameras? Your response doesn’t answer the question initially asked.
True, but it’s still correct and should always be in the back of your head when buying a new camera. But yes, maybe it should’ve been communicated a bit better
