    '79 to '82, an interesting time in original Kisstory. The '79 Dynasty tour was freakin' awesome in the days before cellphones, the internet and social media. It was those fantastic local newspaper ads which got the excitement going. Imagine if Dynasty was a double album? Perhaps there would have been no need for Unmasked, and with a lost cities tour into the places KISS didn't play in '79 into 1980 that would have rocked. Better yet the Elder Tour could have been a lost cities series of shows, venues KISS hadn't performed-in since the mid-70s. The Elder should have been at least a Drive-In B-movie back in the day. It's all in the past now, yet true KISS fans will always dream.

      Do you remember the TV commercial for "The Return of KISS" ? That got me excited about the coming Tour. In the area I grew up, there were often TV Ads for concerts. I remember seeing them for lots of Bands. KISS and Triumph's really stuck in my memory.

      @@My-Media-Museum The 'Return of KISS' commercial I never saw on TV back-in-the-day. Although friends of mine said they had seen one, for me it was the weekly newspaper articles on KISS leading-up to the concert which captured my attention. I saw Triumph in '78 at a local hockey arena, Harlequin was the opening band, awesome show and I was right up-front.

    Taking a look at our KISS CD collection under the zoom. Part 1 I made a huge mistake talking about the 1st CD, do you know what it is ? Impress me with your KISS knowledge and let me know in the comment section. Also want to point out that it's Sweet Pain that had Ace's original Solo restored on an Aug 21st 2012 Remix by Bob Ezrin for the 35th Anniversary. The solo that appeared on the album when originally released was played by Dick Wagner who also played on the track Flaming Youth. Additionally, He played the acoustic guitar on Beth. On the solo albums 45 RPM Singles, Peter was the only member to have two. Don't You Let Me Down and You Matter To ME. I suspect the second single was to try and boost sales of the album as it sold the least of the four. You can see some of their 45 RPM records from previous episodes on the channel at these links: 45 RPM Records Box 06 - The KISS Episode ua-cam.com/video/m6huxT7dRqo/v-deo.html 45 RPM Records The A to Z Collection - Part 28 KISS ua-cam.com/video/kRHZGru0mzg/v-deo.html Thanks for Watching. I must admit, I am much more familiar with the Buckingham Nicks period of Fleetwood Mac than the early years. I do however enjoy the more bluesy Peter Green period but discovered it much later in life and was not aware of them being the original producers of Black Magic Woman. Perhaps because it wasn't on an album but was originally a non-album single. Like "Oh Well" was. For a long time I thought it was an original Black Crowes Song... not.

    On the Melanie record, "Lay Down" is the A side. I believe the "Dual 45" on the Buddah and associated labels means it can be played in mono or stereo. Curtom was Curtis Mayfield's imprint, and it was distributed by Buddah. Both "Freddie's Dead" and "Superfly" are off the soundtrack to the movie "Superfly", and both hit the Top 40 late 1972. "Hot Wax", also distributed by Buddah, was owned by the writing/production team of Holland-Dozier-Holland of Motown Records fame....they were behind many of the hits released by Motown and their other labels during the 60's. They also ran Invictus Records, the label "Band Of Gold" by Freda Payne was released on.

    Will how I got into loving the oldies of the 1950's , when I was almost eight years old, I had found a blue shoebox with a red x on it. I looked inside the box and found some 45s . I asked my mom who's they were she told me hers, she told me she didn't want them and I could have them if I shut up about it. I did shut up and quickly put them on my phonograph. Oh and Will the name you were wanting to know is Clyde Mac Phat ter.

      Love the story, I have a similar one with my mother giving me her old 45's too. I think I pointed out a few of them that I remembered when going through the A to Z collection videos. I also appreciate you letting me know how to pronounce Clyde's last name.

      I wonder if that "Don't call us" song is the same as the Van Halen early demo by the same title. I know Van Halen played a lot of covers during the early days and I believe there was a cover song on most (but not all) of their albums. However, the "Don't Call Us, We'll Call You" I have only heard in its demo form and it wasn't on one of their releases.

    FOOLED AROUND AND FELL IN LOVE IS BY ELVIN BISHOP.

    • @My-Media-Museum
      @My-Media-Museum 2 місяці тому

      Wow, I have confused these two forever and never realized they were two different people. Stephen Bishop and Elvin Bishop are indeed different artists. Thank You for pointing this out as it is an eye (ear) opening moment for me. I did know that Elvin didn't sing the song, that was Mickey Thomas on vocals who would later become the lead singer for Jefferson Starship. This was an honest mistake on my part as I have confused the two artists for a long, long time. Stephen Bishop was the guy in Animal House whom John Belushi took the guitar from and smashed it against the wall. My Apologies to all.
