Why Does Badminton still need Line Judges
Badminton has embraced Hawk-Eye technology in professional tournaments, yet line judges are still a staple on every court. Is it time to fully rely on technology and eliminate the need for human error? In this video, we explore the current role of line judges, the accuracy of Hawk-Eye, and why badminton might be lagging behind other sports in adopting full automation. We also discuss the potential for technology to replace service judges and improve the overall fairness of the game. Переглядів 2,9 тис.9 місяців тому
As the front court player in Badminton, where you are positioned is so important. Many players will stand right on the service line and if any shot is not played to the net, they leave for their partner. However the professionals will stand much further back ready for the interception or rotation. Source: BWF

You NEED to do this after you Serve in Doubles
Переглядів 13 тис.9 місяців тому
The wide split step is so important in doubles right after you serve for many reasons. The Koreans do this so well and you can learn a lot from watching them play. They are so hard to return serve to and a lot of this comes down to what the server does once playing the serve.

    Fuck shouting. The whole video is so stupid. You don't need to shout when hitting, but just exhale. Audience involvment, wtf? Creating same kind of noisy environment as it is in teamsports just keep most of people away from such a disturbing things. Most of players I've talked about this with are oppose of to noises. They don't give a fuck if audience are supporting or not, but just play badminton.

    For non-beginner players, is it a higher chance to be hit in the back of the head if you, as the front court player, stand where you are supposed to? That's always been a mild paranoia of mine that prevents me from standing further back, at the front.

    • @master40382
      @master40382 9 місяців тому

      You have to watch and sense how far the shuttle is behind you. If the lift is deep, you can stand in the center of the court (sometimes even deeper, eg., Korean style). If the lift is short, you would move away from your backcourt partner to avoid being hit.

  • @streetninja23
    @streetninja23 9 місяців тому

    It's about how efficiently you can transfer the power & direction to the shuttle.
