FSJ Jeep Long Travel Suspension with 8 inches of travel and a soft ride!
Hi would there be any necessity to get a larger bore master cylinder because of the larger piston and the caliper? Also I'm considering getting the 2.5 inch lift reverse Shackle kit and I'm hearing the people are saying the nose diving is dangerous or uncomfortable is that true in a full-size Jeep, what has been your experience with these kind of symptoms with the reverse Shackle kit?
I've never experienced a soft or low brake peddle after installing the JB7s. Maybe it's because the FSJ master cylinders already have a large enough bore. On my J20 I have the JB7s up front and a AAM 11.5" rear axle with Disc brakes and still have good peddle feel. Regarding Nose Dive and the FSSR, I normally use CHEAP mono-tube shocks and never experienced the Dreaded Nose Dive when braking. However, if you do have this issue it can be mitigated by using shocks with more compression dampening.
@@adayoftruthandknowledge6357 ok thanks for the reply, do you have hydro boost set up with these calipers? regarding the nose dive issue did you notice any difference between the factory setup and the reverse shackle when Breaking maybe not nose dive but maybe a slightly different behaviour? Also regarding the Shackle reversing is it true that the axle will move one inch forwards if so what solution did you come up for with regards to the drive shaft?
@@bh635 Hi, A Day of Truth and Knowledge is my other channel--sorry for any confusion. I have never felt that I needed hydro-boost for my FSJs. The only time I experience bad brakes was when my vacuum booster started to fail. The FSSR makes a big difference on how the suspension reacts to pot holes and speed bumps in the road and this is why most performance leaf sprung suspensions are set up this way. Yes, it will move your axle forward 1" and it also corrects the Caster when you move the shackle to the rear. This video explains the reasoning of the FSSR ua-cam.com/video/oLEPUAzc_pc/v-deo.html
@@theslab6457 yes I figured it was you because I looked on the other channel and saw your face lol I actually fitted hydro boost to my Cherokee chief because I fitted it with a 3.6 liter twin turbo diesel v8 from a European Range Rover and I needed the space because the engine is much bigger than the 360 and wow the brakes are truly amazing with the Hydro boost that's why I was wondering how the larger calipers would work with hydro boost. The improvements in Road handling as you described are exactly what I'm looking for, the current setup is simply too harsh, my only concern was this nose diving but if that isn't an issue I'm going to go ahead and buy your kit I wonder what the postage will be to Ireland that's where I am based
@@bh635 I used to sell on Ebay and used their International shipping but I ran into some serious conflicts with them that force me to part ways. I would expect that the Shipping/taxes etc would be approx' the cost of the FSSR. If you have an exporter, I can ship to them.
What's the part number for that brake caliper?
Ea store has a different #. I look for 1980 2500 $x4 calipers with the 7200lbs rating. If you cant find any, check here Looking for quality JB6 or JB7 calipers? Look no further than Lugnut4x4! We offer:
Hey do you know what the load capacity is for the FSSR kit it?
I believe they are 1440

@@PackRat_Adventurer Thats per inch
I am wondering if I should do a NV3500 or AX15 in my J10. I hear both are decent. I have the 4.2 but plan on a ls5.3
've heard that the NV3500s can't get rebuild parts. However, the AX15 is well supported and just as strong
Hey do you know the weight capacity of the springs? Are 1/2 ton or 3/4?
I believe they are 1440 lbs per inch

I know.. That last headliner was in the worst condition. It continued to crack apart during the installation. The others I've done were much better. In the future, I may cut all new board to see how much better it would be or compare it to a New Replacement from the after market.
Sure wish there was a follow up or part 2 on that resin coated headliner
I'd like to but next time I may create a new one using heavy card board and resin. Maybe use that split rubber trim stuff around the edges

You did a great job 👍🏼
Do you believe Jesus is God? I assume you are oneness Pentecostal or Jehovah’s Witness.
No, I'm Protestant. Scripture states there is no God above me or beside me. The idea that there are 3 personalities of God is wrong. I'm a son, brother, husband, father, protector, provider and each position has unique responsibilities and benefits but I'm one person.

I have to apologize for the the Cheating Power Braking [LOL-not really] but I should have shown the axle after getting it all painted. I looks good and works great.

Tim, what FSJ are you running and if you have many--list them all?
Finally, back to having comments. I love the FSJs
I really like your videos. I think the quality is much higher than the number of views would suggest. I wonder if you make this shackle reversal kit for the rear axle as well? You see - just like you- I noticed that the shackles on the front axle are in the wrong place. Therefore I started to drive my Jeep in reverse. But after a while my neck began to hurt, so I turned the seats 180° and moved the steering wheel to the back of the car. That relieved the pain in the neck but now again my spine takes all the shocks because the rear axle is now my front axle and the shackles are in the wrong place.
I like your thinking but it becomes a Catch 22
