@@lucindra766 Yes, you're right! 😔 There were so many other horses that looked natural. I liked the one they called for tenth place. She was plain, but she looked kind and her horse looked really comfortable. The _Big Lick_ is still taking place. I don't understand. Are they above the law?

As long as judges keep rewarding bad behavior, it will not stop and only get worse.

@@cubnation Personally I’d like to train a Tennessee walker with positive reinforcement (no chains or stacks) how to gait like the big lick horses then enter in one of those classes just to prove it can be done without the pain.

@@lucindra766 Maybe, but the fact that it is still going on suggests there is a whole lot of money changing hands. Money combined with arrogant pride always results in disaster for any animals involved. The Big Licker's must have somebody in power in their pockets. I think your idea is great, but I think you could have a 10 million dollar horse that is trained the way you said, but they would see that you are not a "paying member," if you catch my drift. They are sick people who probably go to church every Sunday without fail. It just defeats me how they are able to do this to living creatures. 😞

Yall do realize that BigLick isn't a displine right that it actually comes from the displine Padded Performance...

@@genevievelovell4204 idk if you know this but most gaited horses even some non gaited horses tails don't lay flat against the body especially when gaiting, they aren't quarter horses. Nicked tails can't move at all and would lay completely flat, it's an issue that can even be seen in western pleasure and dressage.

@@introvertedequinesamsara6593 Nicked tails do not happen in dressage, the horses swish their tails and move them around. Big lick horses usually have nicked and set tails.

@@lucindra766 I ever said all of them do but it does happen just like the marshmallow fluff, it rarely makes the news because it's not checked by the dressage judges. BigLick has been banned for 52 years, what we see today in most cases is Padded Performance which has been backed by vets which they proved to be non abusive. I don't agree with it but let me explain tail nicking and setting when a tail is nicked it can only be done by a vet the tail can nolonger move as much and they have to immediately put it into a set. The problem with judging horses if they have a set tail is that gaited horses naturally have more tail action. Conformation, excitement and gaiting are many reasons they flag/raise their tails. Even completely unaltered gaited horses might even kink their tail to the side while gaiting as it's normal for em.
