Awesome trip out west with Mitch, Audrey and Maggie. Got snowboarding, mountain biking and kayaking all in four days in the middle of summer. This is Mitch and My first descent down south fork Payette. Super fun and pushy, and my first taste of western kayaking. Paddling antix 2.0
Cheoah River Kayaking | PFD 4/20/2024

First time kayaking down the Cheoah with Matt and Michael. Led down by Mike in the half slice. Dam release was at 1,000 cfs but I am not sure what the actual level was. Overall, this is definitely the best river I have been on and I can't wait to get back out there. Kayaking in Dagger Nomad 8.5. Filmed on GoPro 11. 4/20/2024

Wilson Creek Kayaking | PFD @ -6"
Переглядів 85610 місяців тому
Super fun day kayaking Wilson's Creek in western North Carolina. River gauge was at negative six so it was a little manky but good level to learn on. This was another personal first descent for most of our crew including myself. For me it was a step up from anything I have paddled and I definitely cannot wait to get back out there and clean up some of my mistakes. Kayaking with us was my uncle ...
Southeast Kayaking | Chattooga Section 4 @ 1'

Classic North Carolina Whitewater. Put in below bull sluice rapid, and kayaking from wooddall shoal rapid to the lake. First time kayaking this winter and two PFD's for Mitch and myself. Was a little nervous for this river but it was at good level for first time for someone at my skill level. Online gauge @ 1.2 and bridge at 1'. Paddling with Michael, Mitch, Meg and Aaron. Boat is Dagger Nomad....
Nothing better than peak Fall mountain biking in Pisgah | Yancey's ridge loop
Переглядів 495Рік тому
Riding with Mitch out in the Grandfather district of Pisgah Forest, NC. Yancey's is one of my new favorite rides. Tons of downhill and tons of view. Takes about three hours to complete if you pedal the whole thing and its totally worth it. Filmed with GoPro 11.
Ocoee river kayaking
Переглядів 346Рік тому
Made a solid trip out to the Ocoee with my buddy Mitch for one of the last weekends of the summer. We started the trip at the Nolichucky for some kayaking, then pushed to Brevard/Dupont for some mountain biking. Lastly, we did a pit stop at the Nantahala Outdoor Center otw to the Ocoee. *Accidentally misnamed the first Rapid, it is Grumpys ledge, not Murphys ledge*
Kayaking the Nolichucky Gorge | First real river
Переглядів 1,3 тис.Рік тому
Michael and I made our first descent down the Nolichucky. This was our first successful attempt at a real river kayaking. Our other friends all went rafting and we followed them down most of the sections. Overall this was an extremely fun and beautiful day. In dagger nomad 8.5.
Beech MTB Park (2023)

First time ripping beech this season with the homies. Excellent downhill mountain bike park. Canebrake and the black diamond trails are still closed due to erosion so looking to come back sometime later this summer.
Downhill MTB Park in Gatlinburg, TN? | Ober Mountain

Stopped at a new DH mountain bike park on the way through tennessee this past weekend. Ober MTN. This is a brand new trail system so while its not the best, there is potential for growth. Lift is really slow but the blue trails are a lot of fun.

Heres a more tactical recommendation for trails, huntersville has some pretty good trails, not flow but they are full of roots and have bridge features. 😊
That sunshine eddy is way harder than it seems
@@alexmay7250 haha agreed very glad we had safety
Not bad for first race. Remember in turns, you don't always need to find biggest deepest rut. Pick a line entering turn then immediately look up and way ahead, you will carry more speed, don't look at front fender.
Haven’t been able to catch this on yet but looks fun. In a scorch?
@@IraFowler3 yeah man! Come out this Saturday they are releasing again and it should be a good level.
@@Simpsonjd18 I just might. What’s your take on it?
@@IraFowler3 Definitely worth it.
Hahaha, ah yea. So fun, what an edit too.
@@mike_simpson1 quality beatering
Beast mode!
I met matt at WOR ‘23, he couldn’t paddle the tuck town run without swimming!!! Now he’s crushing lines of the west fork!!!! Great job all of y’all!!! I gotta hit it next year :)
@@paksaokayaking4234 he’s been sending it. Much better paddler than me
Damn that’s sick
Beaters gonna beat. Haha love the chaos at the mini gorge.
Banjo Tight
Nice pickin' and grinnin' river. You're pickin' (between the rocks), and the river's grinnin'. Tighten up your eddy turns and you'll do fine. Might even catch a few surfing spots that way. Welcome to the wonderful world of whitewater!
In Charlotte, too, but haven't ridden there. Looks like a great option to work into the rotation.
This is super tight
Thanks for the upload
Great vid!
Thanks!
Rowdy! 🤙
Trouble finding good riding in Piedmont? Just focus on CLT, our trails rock!!
Sick song choice
Reminds me of our first trip to ocoeseph
Nice video. Beautiful run. You might consider avoiding having your hand and blade get behind your hip, e.g. operate from the bow and not the stern.
Thanks for the advice !
Hell yeah that looks rowdy
Sick vid
so sick. some sweet surfin
Hooker Creek is a gas, Ridgeline is a blast. But you'll work for it from Lake Imaging.
Can confirm that it was chilly
Thanks. Best vid yet of the trails there. Gonna be that way in April and trying to figure out if I should do this or Vee Hollow as my day 2 ride (day 1 is Windrock). Whatever I push to day 3 I might not have time to hit.
Never been to vee hollow. Maybe ober will have something new this summer tho who knows.
Cool video. Was there few months ago but I chickened out on the blacks. lol
Nice one jack👍👍👍
Just enjoy it jack ,love it.well done
Well done lad
Most of those guys should definitely be C Class! 🤣
Sandbaging
Way cool video, nice Trail riding
Looks like some of those guys are cherry picking and needs to move up a class
'Beatrocity', I like that
Wilson's!!!
Moores Spring Trails over near Hanging Rock are prolly the best in that area. Or for some free ride stuff, go to Salem Lake near Winston-Salem. good shit up that way.
Cool I have to check that out thanks man
That hole was wild
Haha thankfully it was at low flow
Dude, super sick
Thanks bro
Great editing!! I'm glad your friend is okay. To me, corkscrew is harder at low water. Too many fu rocks and pin potentials.
Thanks man! And yeah it was a little manky, his paddle got knocked out of his hand but we had safeties set so we had no issues getting him out.
@@Simpsonjd18 yeah, I saw his paddle going on.a solo adventure, lol. And that you guys set safety, so good on you! I actually got pinned upside down there once at low water and had to pull my skirt and dropped my paddle. Thankfully my buddy was able to grab it or I'd have been screwed and sad, as it's my favorite paddle, lol.
@@traceygreen9273 scary deal man
Nice ride!! You definitely had some peak colors!!
Yea its pretty sick. Missed all the tourists too haha
Great video man🤘
Thanks dude!
I've been eyeing this ride for a while now. Might give it a try when the leaves are down and you can really see. Having said that, holy crap the colors in this video are amazing. I watched this one twice.
Thanks man. Definitely worth it, I was blown away by all the different colors out there.
Yancey has a mighty fine ridge. this video is sick
No doubt
No gas
First good job for the first ride, but I must ask. Was there a moment that you asked yourself, "When is this going to end?" I know I did my first time. LOL
Haha dude I had crazy arm pump by lap two, I was pretty sure I was gonna crash
@@Simpsonjd18 At some points of my first race I hoped to crash to get off that track. LOL But I got use to racing, never was great but I held my own.
Dude that big rock footage looks sweet!!! Are you going to post that at some point?
Thanks dude, I didn’t get a ton of footage of it but I might post a short vid at some point.
this is ultra sick
New to the area of Fayetteville and vids like this make me want to hit nearly all trails in NC
Glad to hear it man, hope to see you out there
Great trail I ride here all the time
You had some "interesting" lines in Quarter Mile 😅
Haha yep. I suck at kayaking
@@Simpsonjd18I appreciate your humor, but we all sucked when we started! Hang in there and paddle with a good crew... That slot at 2:08 in Quarter Mile is called "Do a little dance" by us old timers. It gets to be fun around 2000 CFS.
I lost my back end and clipped the right tree @ 6:37 earlier this month. Ouch.
Damn hope you’re all good
