Thank you so much. The little vinyl label with my 3-foot auger with E-Z instructions on the back was just useless. It took a couple of times paying attention to your video (wearing mittens!), but I got it and the clog. Then I took the auger out back, sprayed with Dawn Power Wash, then power washed the heck out of it. Hung it to dry. Then I went to my kitchen sink, removed the mittens and washed my hands with the bar of soap we keep there. Voila ! Un succèss fou !

If that rubber piece cracked or broken I’m just going to put a large piece of heat shrink over the bad rubber unless it’s in bad shape. Then just tear it off completely and putting the heat shrink on. It still operates.

I live in New York City, and I know for a fact that there are still wooden water mains in use here. 2 years ago I watched the city to a repair job where they removed a section of wooden main. Absolutely crazy how long it lasted down there

Central Air Conditioning AND window air conditioners were a fad and everyone wanted to keep up with the 'Joneses'. The fad should have been derailed in the 1960's. Instead, better ventilation systems, with occasional use of water evaporative coolers ('swamp' coolers) should have been commercially promoted. It is the extensive use of the refrigeration of air (condenser/evaprator/refrigerant) that throws EXTRA HEAT into the atmosphere, making the atmosphere hotter than before, and is a definite contributor to global warming. If the FAD of refrigerated air never became widely adopted, we wouldn't have the vicious cycle of needing even more and MORE HVAC because MORE people are throwing more heat into the regional atmosphere.
