    Amazing stories. That Jimmy bought a bigger plane to accommodate his surfboard. Gym‘s been going a little over a year, and it’s still hurts, but I’m so grateful for all the videos of Jimmy’s music and all his friends telling stories, that are available on UA-cam. I do hope to get down to Key West sometime in the not so distant future. Thank you.

      We'd recommend 9'0 x 23 3/4" x 3" or 3 1/8". If you're looking for more paddle power, lean towards the thicker dimension. Also, these dims are just guidelines -- if you find something that's a smidge different, but close to those dims, it should work fine.

    Hi! I’m making my first board, if I spray the deck before I resin, do I need a special kind of paint so it doesn’t eat the blank? Thanks! And also can I spray and then resin and then hot coat and still see the design underneath?

    • @stewartsurfboards4837
      @stewartsurfboards4837 2 місяці тому

      We use water-based paint. And yes, if you're doing the resin and hot coat correctly, they should be clear so you can see the design. You can also paint on the sanded hot coat, then finish with a gloss coat if you want the art to have the highest level of detail and pop. Good luck!

    Taping 1\16 inch Tig welding wire rod to your door skin is great for seeing and determining shapes too if you go to a local welding shop they will probably just give you a couple they are 36 inches long they don't stay curved they spring back to straight 🤙

    I might be wrong but the plywood shape is the template, right? I’ll love to know how to build that, you know, the right measures and so

    • @stewartsurfboards4837
      @stewartsurfboards4837 4 місяці тому

      Yes, the wood shape is the template. It's a thin wood called door skin, which is used to create doors. It's Bill's favorite material to make templates out of. As for the measurements, that's up to you (the shaper) to decide what measurements you're going for and what shape you want to create. There's no right answer there!
