Lafosse (vol. III), Douze Études, N°2
Far more difficult than it may look at first. Legato playing on trombone is always big challenge. Still not perfect: that's why we practice.

Lafosse (vol. III), Douze Études, N°1

Still trying out some new things with the signal chain, so I took the chance to fool around with the etudes contained in the third volume of Lafosse's Complete Method. Could it be maybe the opening to a new collection of studies? Let me know what you think! After very busy times and a lot of frustrating practice, here it is: the twelfth and last of the Boutry Études! Far, far from perfect, but this was a real suffering to prepare. And I'm happy I'm done. Thanks to all of you that joined me in this long journey. I'll see you in the next one! Simone Maffioletti, trombone #simonemaffioletti #trombone #rogerboutry #tromboneetudes

This one here is harder than it may look at first glance! But anyway, only one étude to go! Simone Maffioletti, trombone #simonemaffioletti #trombone #rogerboutry #tromboneetudes

Awesome!
Super son !! Bravo !!
@@bertmoren Thank you very much!
Nice to see someone else who moves their face the same way I do when I play. It’s about the sound not how it looks :)
Bello vedere e sentire il mio caro Simone.
@@frankjardilino8198 Ciao Frank! Ti mando un grande abbraccio!
@@simonemaffioletti anche a te. Mi piacerebbe rivederti.
@@frankjardilino8198 Prima o poi ce la faremo :-)
Amazing!!
Really really good! What mouthpiece are you using?
@@evanling7570 thanks for your comment! I'm currently using a Greg Black NY 3.5 M
Boths ways sound easy for you:)
@@alextbne Thanks for the compliment but believe me: it's not :-)
Sounds great! Anyone knows where I can find the sheet music of this etude?
@@williamraagart3167 It is contained in the third volume of André Lafosse's "Complete Method" for trombone. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Stay nice and flat on the Ab's
Nice, clean playing, good job
@@StefanoL400 Thank you very much!
That symphony always gives me chills! Great excerpt!
I wanna try one of these etudes but it would take months to just read sheet music lol
They are really tough, but you can do it! :-) good luck with those!
Good job, keep up the good work!
Dvorak’s 8th is underrated
nice sound dude
Thank you!
An example of hard work and consistency, thank you!
You are too kind
This is insane. I’m speechless… just bravo!!! By the way what horn and mouthpiece do you play?
You are too kind, thank you! Currently I play on an S.E. Shires TBALESSI tenor trombone with a 2.5 yellow brass leadpipe and a Greg Black NY 3M mouthpiece
@@simonemaffioletti Thanks for the answer. I know it’s not equipment it’s player and you’re really great. Inspired by you I practice lots of articulation exercises from arban, kopprasch and vade mecum and they help me get back into the shape.
@@bacha47ig55 It's very kind of you, thank you. And that's a very good mix of excercises, Kopprasch I also like!
In my college we are suffering a lot with this one since we have to play it in the final exam ,and there was no recordings of it since now so thank you a lot!
Good luck with this one, it's a really, really hard piece! I'm happy to learn you found my video useful, so thank you very much!
Nice playing. Where can I get the score for this for free
You playin a bit sharp but good👍
Not bad. This is a very difficult etude. The only criticism is that certain dynamics didn't make it through and sounded somewhat homogenous. The technique though is quite exquisite, something I would find from Ian Bousfield or Bob McChesney. I am trying to get this one ready too.
Hi! The remark about my technique makes my day: as I studied with Ian Bousfield, I'm happy you can hear his influence in my playing. Good luck with the Boutry! It'll be hard, but they'll make you a better player.
Que bello
Que genial! Me encanta
Top, come sempre!
You sound great!
That's very nice of you, thank you!
I played trombone until I was about 25. I have a friend that plays bass trombone in Brazil. Always good to hear a trombonist playing some excerpts! 👍
Uno dei pochi che non respira dopo la sincope! Bráo, numero 1! ❤
Quei respiri non mi sono mai piaciuti e sono contento che anche tu condivida la mia opinione :-)
Can we get a tutorial please
Hi! I've never considered making tutorials, but I can give it a try ;-)
@@simonemaffioletti seguo sempre i suoi video
@@domenicodecaro6865 grazie di cuore!
Very impressive! Bravo!
Kind as always!
I’ve been watching your videos and this is my favorite one. Your tone and articulation is very beautiful. I’ve been recently working on too much flexibility but I think these articulation exercises really helps to establish core of the sound, which ultimately leads to flexibility too!
This is very kind of you, thank you very much! Having studied with Ian Bousfield, I got pretty obsessed with articulation. And if I can show a good articulation in my playing, then I'm happy. I still have to improve my recording skills though, but I'm getting some new equipment. Thanks for watching and commenting!
🔥🔥🤌🤌
🔥🔥
Ottima perfomance Maestro Maffioletti
Grazie!
I came today across these melodic studies and this is my favorite one. I really love your interpretation of this study.
Thank you for your kind words! This is also my personal favourite in this collection. You can really work on your phrasing on this one
Bravo! Love your playing and sound. Which trombone and mouthpiece are you using? Best of luck on your career
Thanks for your kind words! I'm currently using a Shires TBAlessi trombone with a 2.5 yellow brass leadpipe and a Greg Black NY 3M mouthpiece
Did you double tongue for the 16th note run?
Yes I do. It's a softer articulation than regular "tah-kah", but still double tongue
Ciao Maestro Maffioletti sempre in gran forma
Cerco di fare il possibile :-)
🔥🔥🔥bravoooo
You are too kind ;-)
Grande Maestro Maffioletti
Grazie!
Bel suono, top!
Tutti sti complimenti mi stordiscono! XD
@@simonemaffioletti Quando andiamo a cena?!?!?
Giusto... :-D
Che suono! 😍
Good shit. 🎉🎉🎉
That first note was absolutely crisp
This part with the orchestra is heartbreaking.
Oh yes it is!
Great tone
This is very interesting ! I love the sound of the trombone.
Amazing ! I love this.
Which movement is that from
This is from the 4th movement
Spettacolare! Grandissimo
