    Hello my dogs is developing skin allergies, I am not sure why it is happening, I suspect is when I feed him with salmon or chicken, is that normal that a laggoto get skin allergies?! I am sad bc I have to give him medicine that can hurt his kidney or liver 😢

      Hello, I am not a vet to give you advice, however allergies seems to become incredibly common in all dog breeds and in humans also. I believe it is due to consumption of highly processed food, overvaccination and regular use of dewormers and flea medications. Immune system overreacts and harms instead of protects the body. Allergy medications aim to mask the symptoms, depress immune system but not to solve the problem. My approach is easy. Simple natural species appropriate food is the best medicine to all health problems.

    Thank you for the video. We will be getting a Lagotto puppy in a month. Can the difficulty of their ears (whether they are super difficult or super easy) be distinguished at an early age, like 4-8 weeks?

    • @bclagottoromagnolo
      @bclagottoromagnolo Місяць тому

      Yes, it is easy to see if ear is wide open or narrow. However, how hairy ears will be is not always visible at 8 weeks, close to 12 weeks more likely

      Lagotto is smart and sensible breed. Your cats will tell your pup how to behave depending on their personalities. Some cats happy to play with pups, some want nothing to do with dogs. I do not crate my dogs, they are part of my family

    btw for the rumba, since the puppies always turn it off, you could make a cover with hard silicon: you buy a+b silicon - the harder the type the harder it is for the puppies to push the buttons when they ride it - then you cover the rumba with some plastic bag (to protect the rumba while you pour the liquid silicon on it - make some walls with plastilina play dough or wet clay on top of the rumba, because you will need the silicon in a small circle to cover the buttons. once the silicon has cured, usually max 24 hours, you remove the plastic and clay walls, and you have a nice hard silicon cover that will not slip from the top of the rumba, so that dogs cannot push the different buttons and can keep on playing.

      It is not about where you live but if you like to spent time outdoors. Yes it is more difficult with puppies in the apartment in terms of housetraining but this problem pass fairly quickly. Lagotti are fine living anywhere as long as they get to go out for a walk. :)

    • @bclagottoromagnolo
      @bclagottoromagnolo 3 місяці тому

      Raw bones dissolved in dog's digestive system no splinters coming out the other end but solid whitish poop that becomes powder when stepped on. Cooked bones splinters can hurt dog's digestive system as dogs unable to soften them up and digest.

    It's so nice to see breeders (or dog owners in general) groom the dogs from puppyhood. It seems like regular fur and claw maintenance are skills that people don't bother training their puppies in, and then end up with dogs that freak out when they get their claws clipped, or needs a bath. Teaching a dog to be comfortable with that kind of handling also helps a LOT when they go to the vet.

    • @bclagottoromagnolo
      @bclagottoromagnolo 4 місяці тому

      Thanks! Yes, I agree, and I do my best to introduce pups to grooming but if not practiced at home it will fade away. One of the reasons I make videos about grooming is to show people that it is not as difficult as it seems and I hope to inspire many puppy owners to do it.

    • @bclagottoromagnolo
      @bclagottoromagnolo 4 місяці тому

      Hi It is a myth that clipping puppy will improve curls, there is no evidence to it. the coat of your dog is influenced by genetics. But clipping will shave off puppy fluff and you will see more structured coat faster. There is no need to clip head and legs with #7 blade, scissoring is fine. I have a video Easy Combo Groom you can watch how I do it. Generally dogs dislike clippers on head and legs but don't mind on the body.
