Hey guys! Many asked for a followup on the studio and how it's working for me, and I filmed one here: ua-cam.com/video/SV4_kNLRUII/v-deo.html
Awesome Brittany! 😂
Amazing!! Turned out so great. Also, you're such a dork 🤣
If by dork you mean awesomely incredible, I concur
Of course I means you’re incredibly awesome…and also a dork.

What an achievement 👍😎
Something tells me you were an architect in your previous life or in the multiverse. Your plans always like great and well planned out. 👏🏽💪🏽🍻🫡🤙🏽
haha! I do suspect I have a bit of an engineering mind despite zero education towards it. I will say, I spend an inordinate amount of time in the planning stage before ever starting big projects like this, and it does help for sure!
@@brittanyjoyner fail to plan, plan to fail. Awesome videos thank you for sharing your journey in all you do. 🙏🏽🫡
Salut from Romania. I enjoyed this. Interesting setup.
I think i was cryed enought for Theodosia, i was wrong
BEAUTIFUL PLAYING
Betty Hutton would be proud!
Hats off to you ! great job and perseverance
Thanks so much!
Wow, phenomenal-I know it’s years later, but Congratulations!
Thank you! I still love it!
You did an amazing job!
Thanks!
Wow that was amazing, I loved it! Beautiful.
Wow, I'd got exasperated on electrical part! You did a beautiful job on building this shed. But, watching you build this wants to make me build things. Hello from Santa Clara, CA (Bay Area) Can't wait to see future videos using you recording room.
BUILD IT! It's a great adventure!
Women power ❤ I hope you achieve everything you want in life….this video is empowering Ty
Why thank you!
I don't know why this was recommended to me but I enjoyed it
ha! me either! The algorithm at play, I guess. Glad you enjoyed!
Great job!!! I understand some part of the process of work and it’s a lot. Really astounding you did so much of this alone. Have you had any issues with rain or flooding? I’m looking to finish out a $3500 prebuilt dog shed for my music recording. I didn’t see how you ventilate the space or keep a constant reasonable temp / humidity That’s my biggest concern. It has a sky light, AC unit and window already in the space.
Hi there and congrats on getting the ball rolling on your studio! I'm in Los Angeles, where it's temperate all year long, so weather is hardly ever an issue for me. It did get warm in the heat of summer, so I added a portable A/C that vented out the window and cooled down the space before recording as needed, but really that's only a few weeks out of the year. Rain and flooding is also not an issue. I have a gravel path in front of the studio that soaks up any of the rain in the winter. No puddles. I can't speak from a health or pro-builders perspective, but the fact that you have an A/C unit and a window would tell me that you're fine. Best of luck!
Happy for you 🙂👍🏻
Thank you for sharing! This is the motivation I need to build my at home hair studio 🩷🩷🩷 you’re amazing Brittany and it shows all right here!
Love this so much!! DO IT!!!!
You mean you go get a cup of coffee instead of throwing tools across the yard while yelling profanity? Women are built different.
hahaha, believe me, I've had my share of thrown tools!
im a really independant person im a sparky by trade but most carpentry things i can do. I can weld as well and i really cant stand waiting for people to help me so i share your frustration
I tell ya its extremely hot a woman on the tools i love this
Baby, I knew you were finished when I saw the red lippie! You did that! Amazing job my dear!
Congrats. Lots of extremely difficult labor has led to success. Is there any plans for ventilation/ac? Cheers.
Hi there, I put a standalone A/C (portable) that I use when I'm not recording, and I turn it off when I start. I routed the exhaust through the window. I also have a small fan inside the whisper room.
I give it too you sis
Had you built a building before? How much experience did you have going into this project?
Hi there! I had built a tool shed, tons of furniture, kitchen cabinets and a walk in pantry. So loads of experience, just not this particular exact build.
Incredible work! Bravo 👏 ❤🎉
Dude the dry humor/jokes made this video that much better! Great work on doing things the right way, I'm sure it was very rewarding!
I loved and needed this video! I have a new shed going in next week and the interior will be rough and all on me to finish. To say inspire is not enough. Thank you so much!
Woh!! So exciting! Best of luck- you've GOT THIS!
I watched your entire video today and I must say I am very impressed with the results. You must be very proud. Nice documentary and well thought out. Much continued success. Jimi
I am! It's my happy place. Thanks for the well wishes!
HINT: Pulling is easier than Pushing. Setup a pully system when raising walls. So many things wrong with this build but congrats on doing it yourself. #1 thing your water is going to run off on the electrical box to the house. You should include the WHINE LADY in your reel.
You're a real tropper. You give me "YOU GIVE ME THE I CAN DO IT ATTITUDE". Thank you.
hooray! You CAN!
I'm sure you know by now, that the roof and exterior walls have to be completed first. Dried in before electrical or sheetrock or flooring. Did you forget about air-conditioning? And what was the point of the window if it was going to be covered?
I'd love to answer all your questions, and can easily do so, but you seem like a very hungry troll, so I shan't be feeding you today!
It was really great that she shared the struggles she encountered while doing this build, because when pursuing an endeavor there will be struggles, the person will grow and triumph. She did an awesome job, professional and on a budget. It was very inspirational. Thank you for posting!!!!
Thank you! It was a journey, and one I'm glad I undertook. Just signed with a new VO agent!
how did you handle HVAC for heat and cool quietly??? thanks
Hi Steve, I get this question a lot. 1. I live in Los Angeles, and it's temperate year-round 2. It's in the shadiest part of the yard, and a tree hangs over it 3. Insulation in the walls helps 4. In winter, I put a light jacket on 5. in summer, I keep a desk fan in there and run it between takes 6. in deep summer, I have a portable A/C that I pipe cold air in with for 20 minutes before I go in. Hope this helps!
Wow...Very good job...!!...You have inspired me enough to actually put on a set of head gasket on my truck..!..I wish you the very best in your quest for the future..Even though I can build ( I actually built my studio ) and I'm just amazed at the persistence you showed in finishing this..As the saying goes, just as long as it passes inspections..!..
Thanks, and congrats to you on building your studio!
nicely done!
Thanks!
Absolutely impressive. I just finished the build on my studio in my backyard a couple weeks ago and the process was crazy. I dealt with the pandemic and so many issues just kept arising. Again impressive and congratulations 🎉
Nice work! I hope it serves you well!
I’m looking to do the same but with already built shed I’m just worried about outside noise like birds and stuff like that. Loud trucks driving by and what not
Indeed! Could you try insulating the inside and double drywalling?
We both had the same idea, the LED light controller at the door :D amazing build❤❤❤
Brilliant
No, YOU are
This woman is a beast. Shes not scared to get it done. Im impressed, Im thinking bput doing the samething except with a 15 x 30' shed. Maybe i need to see if she can give me a bid, plus i will be working too, lol. Great job btw.
haha! Yes, love it! #beastmode You should 100% do it! You can do this. I promise.
This was REALLY inspiring. It makes me feel a little ashamed that I pay people to do work that I can do myself. I don’t have the budget constraints you did, I have a whole room in my basement for my recording studio - and yet the amount of skill, work, dedication, love you put into this effort is nothing short of amazing. I love seeing the joy on your face at the end. You earned every bit of this!! When I saw the total cost at the end I nearly died. I spent that much money on custom acoustic treatment panels - and you built a whole room on your house with an iso booth inside. I’m humbled, I’m impressed - and I want to be like you when I grow up. Cheers to you!!!
Hooray! I'm so glad you enjoyed! It's been a real treat, working in VO now, knowing that my hands built this cool thing. Plus, I LOOOOVE saving money. Very gratifying. And cozy!
you can learn man
7:50 is the mind state us as creatives must keep in order to not throw in the towel everyday and take neccesary risks, I Love it!
too true!
Nice video and work you, my studio is still better though :) :) :)
haha, bully for you then! 😂
@@brittanyjoyner lol. If you ever come to Chicago let me know, would love to work together :)
This is so inspiring... 😀
We need an update video since it has been over a year now!
Great idea! I'll get to work on that!
No AC, is going to be a sauna room in summer with LA heats!?
Good question, and I've now experienced 1 LA summer in it. It wasn't the worst. Since it's in a shady part of the yard under a tree, it's the coolest area of our property. Plus, the insulation for sure helps. When it got peak heat this past summer, I got a portable AC from a friend and piped the exhaust out the window and cooled it off before sessions. It worked fairly well.
Congrats on the build. I hope it's still holding up for you!
It is! Recording frequently out there! Thanks for watching.
