Street Fighter 2 was still the greatest fighting game ever produced when MK1 hit the scene. There was just no comparison, but what mortal kombat brought to the table were realistic graphics, blood, and fatalities. These things alone is what made it interesting. The game play was somewhat clumsy but got better with every new installment. SF2 still has its place in fighting game history, mortal kombat paved it's own path

I was lucky enough to live thru this era, took on SF2 head to head..the MK song, the Sega blood code, congress making the rating system for violent video games....I still play MK to this day.

Funny that she says she took Tai Kwon Do and Tang Soo Do, because they gave Sonya the Tai Kwon Do style in Deadly Alliance. I wonder if Kerri was the resaon for her having the style, or it's just a coincidence? Unfortunately her second style is Kenpo, and Quan Chi was instead given Tang Soo Do.
