The Tower of Joy
The "Tower of Joy" is a significant event in George R.R. Martin's *A Song of Ice and Fire* series, particularly highlighted in the TV adaptation *Game of Thrones*. It takes place at the end of Robert's Rebellion, the war that deposed the Targaryen dynasty.
The Tower of Joy is a structure located in Dorne, and the key event there involves a confrontation between three members of the Kingsguard-Ser Arthur Dayne, Ser Gerold Hightower, and Ser Oswell Whent-and Eddard (Ned) Stark. Ned, accompanied by his companions, arrives at the tower to rescue his sister, Lyanna Stark, who is said to be imprisoned there.
Inside, Ned finds Lyanna dying from complications related to childbirth. She reveals that she gave birth to a child, Jon Snow, who is actually the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna herself. This revelation has significant implications for the series, as it reveals Jon Snow's true parentage and his claim to the Iron Throne. The confrontation at the tower ends with the deaths of the Kingsguard members and the survival of Ned and his men, who take the baby Jon back to the North.
The event is crucial for understanding the complex history and relationships in the series.

Winds of Winter POV Characters Discussion
That’s kinda lame I’m all for dying when expected to but like 3 arrows? I feel like I could take 3 arrows to my torso and still go but I 100% wouldn’t survive the battle after the 3 arrows I feel like Cole would with his heavy kingsguard armor would just take 3 arrows to his chest plate without it even breaking skin
Too bad. He is a great character ❤
I cannot image those poor children their siblings and mothers and fathers gone because of greed and power. Their dragons died with their riders, Alicent had no one in the end.
For some reason I actually really like Cole as a character. He sorta reflects paladins if they existed in Westeros. It’s so hard to keep an oath when the people around you see you as a tool for war etc. plus the temptation of flesh must be insane especially for warriors who take Oaths in Westeros.
Can’t wait for that episode 😂
Well alicent ,if u want to blame someone blame you're self
Beautiful words
the shows ruined with what they did to alicent, it seemed like a good change in s1 and just exponentially deteriorated to season 8 level wroting, why would she offer her sons up to die, idiotic.
Can't wait, but I won't rush it. 😏
Spoiler alert: I hope they don’t change the ending where Rhaenyra gets eaten by sunfyre
they'll have some martyr spin on it, she was supposed to be more morally grey and impulsive, more pragmatic view of an ambitious monarch/pretender, not a saint figure like in the show.
@@0ctalpusthey'll definitely give her an "honourable death", their bias towards Team Black is obvious.
@@0ctalpusthey already set up that female Targaryens dying in dragon fire is somehow a win. I bet you they will do their best to make it somehow seem like Rhaenyra won even as she gets roasted.
Im very curious how show will portray this, but since Alicent is such a terrible person in show, I hope she will enjoy watching son which she misstreated to be triumphant and her watching what was left of her girlfriend.
She will probably weep when she finds out Aegon killed Rhaenyra and she'll be the one who poisons Aegon. You know what I think would be funny. If after Sunfyre roasts Rhaenyra, Aegon says "she was no true dragon, fire cannot kill a dragon". Imagine how the Rhaenyra fans would react.
"By Laenor" 😂😂😂
Cristin: We can start with me vs the 3 of you I want 3 more Archers fk Cristin up
That septa was Rhaenyra Targaryen
sounds like a BLM protest
Even after what happened, Tyland must be one of the most well hearted Lannister ever, he never hold any grudges against Aegon III even after his mother did to him, in fact he even became his hand, and he was one hell of a hand, he did a good work trying to Rebuild and maintain stability in the kingdoms after the dance of dragons in his few time of life, in his final moments in his deathbed, Aegon III next to him always.... Without a Doubt he is one of the best hands of the king ever
Fake king Aegon
Emmond killed Reneira that there were 20 other eggs preserved
Νorth chicks 😅
Alicents eye's are tweaking like never before
I wonder how this is gonna go down now in the show since Sunfyre is dead supposedly.
I don't see cannibal counted when it doesn't have a owner
In corlys funneral Cannibal dragon surprise everyone because it comes from nowhere and had screamed for while after that it disappear.. So some theories says that corlys secrately claim the dragon Cannibal.. thats why the dragon was sad in his funeral.
No dragonblood
We wuz dragon rydazzz nyga
So ghey
Why can't a dragon eat him ?
So Vermithor and Silverwing chose Hugh and Ulf to be their rider because of their Targaryen blood and nothing more? I always thought there is something deeper when a dragon chooses their rider. Hugh and Ulf are just traitorous, ambitious, and greedy bastards. And one of them is a drunk. The dragon keepers are right. Those traitorous bastards doesn't deserve the dragons. The dragons are of old Valyria, they came from old magic and they are magestic.
นางเอก อ่อนแอไร้ประโยชน์ มาก ยอมให้กระทำ ร้านอยู่ ฝ่ายเดียว อยู่ได้ ไม่ ค่อย สู้ เลย🙄💥
Reported fake info
Almost all the children of the Targaryens ends up dying!!!
So they was probably done with humans after that
R.I.P:Caraxes
something that we are waiting for
I'm Glad that Silverwing survived. At least she's out with this conspiracies and fuckery. Just be wild girl!
We'll get to this point in the story around 2028? It's only 4 years 😮
Sad but true lol
Poor dreamfyre
The cannibal is the HOA
Ain’t no way that is happening in the show
I feel she was one of the victims, all her life she was gashlighted and lost everything...
What a boss level move.
They’re gonna censor this smh
Nah Butchers Ball makes no sense idgaf. Aemonds not the smartest guy but he wouldn’t be dumb enough to abandon Criston like that. The Riverlands armies had already suffered terrible defeats and losses at the hands of the Greens, how they managed to mobilise an army big enough to overwhelm Ser Criston’s don’t add up at all, this is one of the things the writers should leave out of the show
İn where did blacks suffered great loses?
It's called guerilla tactics LMAO
They literally said in the show that the Riverlands have the largest host which means they have the largest population to levy from im assuming so finding more men probably wasn’t that hard considering the atrocities they’ve suffered from this war
This is propaganda. Aegon will be eaten by Syrax in the show
Litelary Sheepstealer & Nettles was The Origin of Burned man Clans / One of Mountain Clans on Vale. One of the the burned man was Shaga son of Dolf Tyrion left hand man. (on book). Shaga mention about Tale the witch & her Dragon on Vale 200 year ago the origin of their Clan, that time was time exactly of The Dance of Dragon happen.
Thank you for the spoiler
It’s just sad. I feel for her dragon. It knew she passed.
Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving Queen lol
Boo hoo, she literally brought this on herself
So sheep stealer is also not dead
Vanished means not death right
