    Ya know you can just spin the center to adjust the tie rod in or out right? You should probably also mention that when installing the ends, both ends should be turned in the same amount so that there's not more threads on one side than the other. The best way to do that is to spin both sides in all the way and then keep them immobile when spinning the center.

    Do you grease them up? Most forget to grease it up to give it a longer life.

    • @erikweisz299
      @erikweisz299 2 роки тому

      Yes, you should always grease the threads prior to installing the ends so they won't seaze up and make it hard to adjust later.

      You can’t see why it’s called a castle nut? It looks like the top of a castle wall in medieval times.

    I have a hole in my maxxis... we don't ride hard or fast ... so was surprised when this happened the other day ... it was COLD up here in MA - maybe that didn't help. I took it to tire shop, they said it couldnt' be fixed.. I'm going to get some patch plugs and do it up good - AND maybe add GOO - have you used GOO and if so would you recommend?

    The one post about tireject is a year old so they've probably already tried tireject. I looked at other videos of this product. It works. But in this case, the tire would have to be removed so that the tire can be maneuvered where the leak is at the lowest point so tireject (as runny as water) can work its way through the puncture. I prefer the plugs. Less work. Less mess. Easier to carry than a quart size bottle of tire sealant.

    Buy 10 ply radial tires.. Foam them... that will get you back OR Buy a set of Run Flats Tires

    • @d2nasty696
      @d2nasty696 2 роки тому

      That foam eats up the rim from the inside. That's why alot of people don't use them exept for tubes in tires like with bicycles. Run flat tires can also become pricey and I'm not sure they make them for utv's. This is a simple quick way to fix your tire and go.

    I've got a problem with my two mini quads, maybe you can help. How tight should the ball joint screws be ? If I tighten em fully the quads feel like they wish to overturn when turning. I accept there surely has to be movement otherwise the damping and suspension movement won't operate correctly. Any help be appreciated.

    How did the tie rods and ball joints hold up

    • @timetoride3192
      @timetoride3192 6 років тому

      The American Star rod ends didn't last. We'd recommend the OEM ends but the rods lasted great.

    I am dealing with the same issue, its just a small slice in the same area as yours, but i think i am going to try tireject, you should look it up. So far it looks like a really good solution for us ATVers

    How did you stop the tie rod from spinning to be able to do the castle nut up??? You didn't show that. It has to be clamped in.

    • @timetoride3192
      @timetoride3192 6 років тому

      True! I ended up using a beefier (spelling?) cotter pin and bent it up to help prevent the nut from spinning! Thanks for reaching out!

    • @jamiejames1928
      @jamiejames1928 6 років тому

      TimeToRide thanks for reply, struggled to get tie rods so made my own.

    • @erikweisz299
      @erikweisz299 2 роки тому

      If the stem of the tie rod is spinning while trying to tighten the castle nut, tap the stem down into the knuckle and hold pressure on it. The stem is tapered so if it's held down into the hole (in the knuckle) it won't spin.
