Hey I wonder if you could watch and react to the Rockwall Marching show for 2023 we didn’t win anything big but I would like to see what happened with our show and see someone’s blind perspective

Watched them perform at TMC at night and it was cool. The lights turning on at night had this affect that stood out against the other bands

Hebron is only allowed by the district to go to Grand Nats every 4 years for budgetary reasons. The school district has 4 insanely competitive schools, but overall, Hebron is the most competitive. It's to give other potential bands within the district the opportunity to go as well. My son marched 2019 - 2021 with Hebron. We petitioned for out of district transfer just for the opportunity to march with this program

Wow, Hebron HS is always so impressive. Their sound, visual effect as well as just overall entertainment is so much fun to watch. I’m a dad of son who did hs band, blue coats and even college band. And now have a grand-nephew who’s killing it in hs. Always love a great a band. ❤❤❤

I am actually a former band member from Texas in a city waaaaay south of San Antonio, TX The high school I attended was PHARR-SAN JUAN- ALAMO High School. I played clarinet during marching season and basson during concert season. I will share the video with you soon.

I'm sorry but I do not see how you can possibly know how good or bad they sound because you talked through the whole performance. I listened to you for a few minutes then left. This is, by far, the best high school marching band and you did not let your audience enjoy it.

Please do Glenn High school from Leander Texas. Vista Ridge and them are rivals. Although Glenn is the newest school in the district, the improvement is insane.

No shot, I was in the Macys great American marching band on baritone, we had strikingly little musical rehersal, there was just a lot of talent there on Harold square!

Jonathan Martin, it's not hard to enjoy a band that good. Have you ever investigated any Drum Corps DCI Finals shows? They're incredible! I'm from the hometown of a winner--the Phantom Regiment, so I've seen a lot of these in person over the years.

Can you please do their 2015 show “Wild Blue Orchid”? I am a guard guy and absolutely musically inept but from my humble opinion I think that is one of their best overall shows! It’s all Shostakovich and jeez those kids could PLAY! I taught a guard that competed with them at St. Louis and Grand Nats and seeing it live was jaw dropping!

Stumbled upon your commentary and loved it. I grew up in East Texas. To this day, the bands in the area do marching drills, not shows. Take a look at " 11/1/22 The Pride of Lindale UIL State Military Marching Band Finals". They even have separate competition ladders. For college level, watch Texas A&M. Totally differently designed shows and music. I like the marching "6 to 5" more but I grew up with that. Steve Lee

I'm sure you've seen it already, but Vista Ridge's 2018 marching show “Lost and Found" (I was a sophomore from another Texas school at this time) was probably the most historically impactful show in UIL history. Not only did Vista Ridge win first place because of that show, but the show also symbolized how their band was lost ever since the school was established and they have been through quite a rough time. From ALMOST getting a 1 at UIL Region a few years prior to becoming the UIL 6A State Marching Band Champions. I did not get to see “Lost and Found" live (unfortunately we couldn't stay much longer) but I did get to see Flower Mound (who got 2nd place in that competition) and I wouldn't trade that experience for anything. I was a little frustrated that they didn't win and when I saw the results, I was like “Vista Ridge, eh? Never heard of them." I then looked up their performance her on UA-cam and I saw why they won...marching band sure is amazing for those who want the most out of it. I recommend Round Rock HS! Their show this year is leaps and bounds better than last years and took a lot of people by surprise!
