hey! wanted to buy my first camera for smaller indoor concert gigs and was planning on going with the sony a7ii. Was wondering what your thoughts were on the 28-70 f3.5-5.6 kit over a f2.8 ( or less ) prime lense for concerts and low light photography. Since it's my first camera i'm not too sure if I should be spending the extra money on the prime lense since the 28-70 kit gives me a lot more flexibility with photography outside of low light settings. I'm also looking for a slightly grainy noisy look on my pictures so i'm not too sure if a lower aperture would be necessary or if I could get the same effect using a f4.0 lense. Great video!
I've personally gone with an RX100 because it's more compact and maybe easier to get in places while starting out to build the portfolio with something decent but it does have more noise than desirable if the lighting isn't strong enough. Earlier models have a 24-70 lens I think and the later ones 24-200. You could also look at the G7X II or if you're set on a bigger camera then yeah maybe something like a7ii, a7rii or canon 750d/760d or maybe look at the sony alpha range like a6000-a6700

I've worked with a band for the pass few months, just going around local shows and festivals and decided reach to small concert organizers about 3 weeks ago and got a positive reply for an upcoming show, so reaching out to small and local concerts organizer for photo passes is a great strategy!
