Your wee dug knew the way 😊
According to Tractive their Tracker uses the 2G Mobile network which is currently being decommissioned in the UK !
….In 2033

Cody is a gorgeous boy
A brilliant and indepth review. Been trying decide for a while now which one to get, this video has definitely helped me pick which one. Thanks
Mona leeya Brian
Big question is, is it worth the £50 plus £84 a year do you still use it?
I'd say yes, and yes, it is on Cody every time we go up the hills
yes id say so
Did the gabbro make their feet sore? Hamish Brown said he used to carry his dogs when it got rough underfoot. Great video.
no my dogs all do path walks so thar pads are tuff and iv paw wax to
Great views up there.
yes thay are
Fantastic 👌. What a day 😊 ATB Tam😊
Thanks. Nice dog too!
The problem with your simulated "finding" Cody is, Cody never left your side. I don't understand how this app can lead you to your lost dog, especially when you see your position and the dog's position on a map that lacks any reference points like shorelines and roads. Sometimes the blue dot indicating my current position is accompanied by an arrow that directs me to the dog. But often the arrow is missing, and I have no indication where to go while in the woods.
Is All explained in the video How the app works and the tracker in what i'm doing to simulate not havingsignificant
is all in the video and the map on the app has roads and paths shoing
That's quite clearly explained in the video!! You can't educate pork
Hi you know the way you came down? Is that the best way to go up if avoiding schoolhouse ridge?
yes it is but id not be very good if i did not show how the ridge is for dogs
Brilliant - Buster and Lomond love watching too 🐾
I'm in the process of tracking my dog with Tractive and my dog's location is very slow to update, do you have a similar situation?
Hi it can do but I my be ur settings as it sends out a signal evry 5 to 10 minutes for example but if u go to live track is faster
The Munro channel Jura and I have been looking for! 🎉
Finally an intelligent and real world review 😊 thank you
Thanks for the video! I've been weighing up the options for a gps tracker for my new Shiba Inu pup, she's incredibly brave for such a young dog and does love to run off. Funnily enough, while I've not tested your lightning bolt example with my old Collie, I have (accidentally!) tested your herd of deer example as they roam the tracks that I walk on daily and she actually came back when she started to chase them and I called her. I am not so confident with the Shiba. Not at all. And honestly, I think the collie coming back was something of a fluke! Not a test I'd like to repeat!!! 😂😂 My only concern with the Shiba is the device might be a bit large for her as she's still only a pup!
If u have a harness u code pot it on that if is to big but ther are uther GPS trackers that work the sane way thay my be smaller

Any problems with balled up snow on dogs feet ? One of my collies with long coats had a problem and I had to knock the snow off from time to time
iv paw wax it helps with this problem
Great video. Keep them coming!
Thanks for this , it’s great to see the views from the summit . Was shrouded in mist when I was there last.
Thank you. A really informative and entertaining video. The star of course was Cody! Thanks for all the ideas re using these to best advantage. I have a Tractive and there are some things I hadn’t thought of. Thanks also for debunking the myths. Personally I can’t stand the smug arrogance of the 100% recall brigade. Like their dog is some kind of programmable machine or something.
Glad you enjoyed it!
So Glen Affric…. One of many examples :-) … no reception till on top of a Munro. So you are in the glens or even half way up. Lost dog… you have to climb to the top of a Munro to locate dog … … back out of reception to try and find dog.. lose dog location again if dog has moved which is very likely. Have to climb high again… rinse and repeat. Exhausted, I would be… . I do like the review tho and I would consider a tractive for areas with guaranteed signal. As I said on the munros for dogs page. Having walked the length of Scotland including the cape wrath trail and done most of the munros (more than once). I would respectfully disagree on the regular phone signal. Where I have been there can be a couple of days without it and that’s even going high. I had none at 800 metres behind the saddle :-). I’ll stick with the Garmin… I’ve had it in deep cover, crap weather , mountainous terrain and like to see my dogs location regardless of a phone signal. Pity tractive asks for a subscription cos it would be handy for local walks . The garmin collar is a bit well… obvious. I have to say though you speak a lot of sense re the dogs on hills :-). I’m still up for a real world test with the garmin in a guaranteed no signal area for sustained time .
Nice one 👍 been towing and throwing about getting one of these after hearing some bad things. Sounds like a lot of people that have one just don't use it right. So might still get one.
Yes thay do have a bad rep and ther not perfect still thay do work as my test showd
very cool
Well done
Amazing
Good effort!
Thanks!
I love the dog-cam! Is Poppy usually happy on the hills? She looks very comfortable on that rocky terrain. I don't currently have a dog, but I'm thinking of getting one, and it will have to be one that enjoys the Scottish hills as I spend a lot of my time in them. A collie would be the obvious choice, but I do love pomeranians. Maybe a pomsky (pomeranian/husky cross).
hi yes poppy love the hills is her happy place and she never has a problem getting up them poms are not just toy dogs they love adventure too if u need help u shod join the munros for dogs facebook page
Read Hamish's Mountain Walk for more about dogs and Munros.

Great video.. lots of good info about the hike, brilliant 👏 I've just subscribed to your channel also 😀
Poppy is a nimble soul, like my dog Lollie. Love Cody's camera work. Nice to see the hike on Starav as I'm always walking below it. Can you tell me where you started the walk, maybe l missed that. Thanks for sharing Alioban
