Oh this makes a LOT more sense! You’ve cracked it! I was trying to work out how to do this but you have already figured it out! You have basically got the best of both - the FlyLady system but using the index card box! I would love an update as to how you are getting on! (And also perhaps would you mind going into further detail how you include your monthly, tasks into this? Or do you just do them as part of your zone clean?) This video should get more views! In fact I watched it three times to make sure I understood how you were setting this up. Such a great idea.

I started my organization journey from the Sidetracked Home Executives back in 1983’ish. I worked & taught that system for decades. It’s still my favorite although I use a planner now. I use 3/5 cards for things that stay by my computer.

The candy-colored tabs are so cute. You explain things so well. I remember my mom with her old wood recipe box and colored cards from the 70s. I found Flylady in 2000 and keep going back to it. I tried the cards, but Flylady has more rhythm to it for me.

I hear you, about doing anything in a heat wave! Ugh! In Nova Scotia, the heat and humidity has been driving me crazy! After this week, it’s supposed to cool down, so for about a month, I’m not going to do much zone cleaning, and focus on day trips with my husband and elderly parents. I do this at Christmas as well. Hmmm homemaking that would be a thing - I never find the time

I so needed this video today! We currently have a carpenter here fixing holes from a plumbing issue.😂 I have given myself permission to rest, so when he leaves, I will be able to put our home back in order. My bathrooms are clean enough, kitchen is clean enough, our cat Jetta is safe in the bedroom, meals are prepared in fridge. Good enough, is good enough!❤

I love canva. I also use it for organising my homemaking and personal life like a business because it's visual, easy to use, and accessible on my phone which is handy ❤

We're still figuring out how to make it work for us but your videos are really helping - especially helping me to understand why my ADHD hosemate struggles with it and what might help. It's so important, with everything, to adapt things based on how your own brain/body and life work.

"Clear your clutter with Feng Shui" by Karen Kingston might help you to reduce all the clutter. She's also explaining the context between clutter and obesity. It's just too much everywhere, even after cleaning. All the unnecessary tiny things. For everything you're using items, that aren't really needed. Plastic everywhere. 😵 This stuff would take my energy too.

There's still too much clutter on the washing machine after cleaning. But great idea to wipe the floor with your socks... 😂

It's so tough to balance this stuff. I have a tendency to push super hard on good energy days which make the low energy days more often and worse 😬 I'm working on that!

Well put. I find sitting in a dark room with a fan on helps. A dark room for me helps with over stimulation but I can't have it too quiet. So a fan for noise and a slight breeze balances things out nicely.

Awesome video!❤❤❤ In my younger adult years, when I was working crazy shift work hours, I expected to be perfect at keeping house. That didn’t turn out well. 😂 Later, after some health challenges, I found the Flylady system. Like you, I found the website “bonkers”. However, Flylady is now the back bone of my cleaning routine. I don’t follow it perfectly, but it works for us! Thank you!❤❤❤
