Hello! I am the Marine Air Ground Planner (MAGPlanner). I have a love for travel and geocaching which, together, have brought me around the world several times over. I want to be able to share the many amazing places we visit with you, beginning with a tour through EVERY county in the United States!
Please tune in and join my amazing dog, Ai-Chan, and I as we travel together across the US, one county at a time. Subscribe to stay tuned for updates as our travels continue to bring us to destinations around the globe from there!!!

Kagoshima
In the furthest southwest corner of the island of Kyushu I find myself coming into the city of Kagoshima with the imposing figure of Japan's most active volcano, Sakurajima, looming in the background. There are not very many geocaches to be found here, not many at all. In fact, there are little more than a dozen across the entire prefecture and only three in the city, so I will set out to find each of the three in the city while I am here. To add a little flavor to the tour I also attempt to visit each of 3 museums residing where Kagoshima Castle once stood. It is a rather quick tour of the downtown area, but I make sure to stop in and see as many of the sights as possible as I bounce between the caches and the museums. Come along with me to see what Kagoshima has in store for the intrepid explorer.

It will be a full week of events beginning at The Alamo, stretching through San Antonio, and into the main event in Floresville. Kumamoto

The journey across the island of Kyushu continues in the City of Kumamoto. I rise with the sun, ahead of the rest of the city, setting out on the geocaching trail while I still have it all to myself. The sense of solitude does not last long, however, and by the time I reach the end of the Nagabei Path it is in full swing, muggles and cars aplenty. I walk through the city center, doing a complet...
Saga

The journey to complete the remaining prefectures on the island of Kyushu next brings us to the city of Saga. We may not have a lot of daylight available to us, but we certainly make the most of what we have. We begin our tour of the city in the Saga Balloon Museum, celebrating over 30 years of the Saga International Balloon Fiesta being held right here in the area. Out the doors we next drop i...
Nagasaki
Переглядів 6021 день тому
Today we set out to tour the city of Nagasaki on the Northwest coast of the island of Kyushu. The journey begins with a walk through the city, strolling the streets in the rain, tracking down geocaches, and checking out the sights. When the road leads to Kotaiji Temple we begin to ascend, through an ancient cemetery, up to the summit at Kazagashira Park to enjoy a spectacular view of the city. ...
Kitakyushu

The journey through Kyushu begins here in Kitakyushu, the city of the north. I will be spending most of my day in the city center, walking around the castle area. Our tour of the city will include a stroll through Katsuyama Park, a stop in at Yasaka Shrine, a look out over the castle gardens, and finally a tour of Kokura Castle. I wrap things up by hitting the streets, following through five st...
Hiroshima

I have returned to Hiroshima, this time around first thing in the morning, rather than at the end of the day! I rouse inxtricablfate from his slumber and force him out into the city on an adventure to hunt down geocaches together. Our day is centered on the area around Peace Memorial Park, the starting place for an adventure lab, a multi stage earthcache, and 3 multi stage geocaches. Our tour o...
Ride Tairyuji
Переглядів 64Місяць тому
The Tairyuji Ropeway, completed in 1992, rises for 422 meters over a total distance of 2775 meters. It is an ~9 minute ride each way, high above the mountains to and from Tairyuji Temple. Sit down, relax, and enjoy the scenery from the Tairyuji ropeway as we ascend to the heights and then descend again back to the Naka River. #travel #japan #scenicview #riverview #ropeway
Naka Town (East)
Переглядів 90Місяць тому
Ai-Chan and Skip join me as I take on a second day of exploring our hometown, Naka Town, one location at a time. We continue to follow our adventure pass, traversing our way through the remaining 10 of 28 locations on the east side of Naka Town, including the super-secret final location to finish the quest. We begin at Tansuiso and work our way through the local grocery stores, a bakery, the ro...
Hello Sir! You may have answered this question elsewhere, but where did you get your utility chest bag from? It's really neat and useful for adventures like this...thank you!
Awesome video…
Thanks for tuning in!
I’ll be there!
My Man!
Yay!! My mother in law has definitely been so busy with getting this all set up and planned 😍😍😍. Will you be coming to it? If not, I understand since you're back in Japan
A lot of work going into what is shaping up to being an amazing event! Unfortunately, I won't be there. Working on a tour of the Pacific.
@@magplanner no worries at all. I'm hoping it's an amazing event for all cachers. I hope you fully enjoy touring the pacific.
Wow what a great park
If there weren't kids all over, I would have went wild on the toys :)
I will be at the Texas challenge. I did the lab caches last weekend I got 340 finds and there are still more to come. They have really done a great job with the caches too. Challenges, letterboxes galore
We were talking about all the cards they have up their sleeves. They are really pulling out all the stops to make this an amazing event!
Mag I think you should make the trip come on its a short trip I am planing on being there for my first event
Knowing that alone makes me want to go ❤! I'm sure you'll have a great time out there! Look out for the 2crazychics and they'll be sure to link you up with some great cachers!
Just realized you're no longer wearing the vest
It was never going to travel well outside of the US. I left it behind in Las Vegas.
Do you sometimes log finds in Japanese or leave it to COs to Google translate your logs?
I have a strict "no homework policy" and do talk-to-text logs on the go. I leave the translation up to them since my logs are already pushing the length limits 😅
Thanks again Nick.
And thank you for the comments on the Kyushu videos :)
How do I save
In the lower-right corner under the video there is a "Download" button. Hope you get to see Naka Town for yourself soon enough :D!
Thanks Nick for continuing to bring us along and share the sites and history of the area.
Very excited to continue to do so and happy to know you are still enjoying the ride 🎉!
Such a beautiful place to visit❤
I'm so glad we could enjoy the day together!
Ai chan is so cute. Skip's jump was pretty cool😊
He was so excited to be able to run his favorite trail with her!
Thanks for visiting some of my geocaches!! Hope you can come visit Fukuoka again in near future!
I hope I am able to make it back to Fukuoka again in the near future as well. It was obvious that there were some really good geocaches hidden in the area. I just didn't have time to do it on this trip. I really appreciate you putting them out there for the community to enjoy!🎉
Looking at the walls of the moats and castles they appear so well built - smooth faced. And to think they were built BY HAND hundreds of years ago.
The engineering behind so many of the castles I have visited is very impressive, to say the least. There was a lot of thought that went into each unique build.
Kudos to you for staying with Mrs Mag while shopping. Hopefully there is a geocache or 2 to sneak away and quickly find nearby.
By the time she is ready for shopping, I've already cleared all the caches nearby anyway so no conflict of interest 😂
What was the sandwich called?
Saba Sandwich ("sando" short in japanese). The fish 🐟 in it could not have been served any hotter, that's for sure😅
Thanks for taking us along on another city tour and sharing the history. Cache on.
Inxtricablfate stays away from this part of the city (heavy with tourists), so we both appreciated taking you along with us on the journey 😀!
Thank you for sharing this with us.
Hope you enjoyed the tour with us 😊!
Hey, I'm driving your firetruck 😎
Your international game is 🔥
Hi I started your videos from the beginning. I like them so much. I’m the lady you met in Hawaii Kai today. It was such a pleasure meeting you and I look forward to following your adventures. 🙂🙂
It was very nice to meet you! I sincerely hope you enjoy traveling across the US and Japan with us :). You can look forward to the videos from Hawaii starting to release early next year!
Hi I’m the lady you met in Hawaii Kai today. Just wanted to to say how much I enjoyed meeting you. I’ve subscribed to this channel and look forward to seeing more. Have a great stay in Hawaii! PS. I love your dog🙂
Thank you for the subscription :). Ai-Chan was a major inspiration behind my video series - She is quite an amazing dog. I enjoyed meeting you and your pup as well. I hope he continues to beat the odds for a long time to come!!!
Hudson ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I wonder which trail she is dreaming about?
Yakitory (sp?) looks like Filipino BBQ. Looked like you didn't buy enough food for all of you.
It is never enough food 😂. I don't give them a big lunch because Ai-Chan takes liver supplements in the evening. They eat a full meal for dinner.
Is Skip named for me? Firefighter Skippy? lol. Cool stuff. Thanks for sharing
Well, you definitely had the name first. He is just following in your boot prints :-).
I love hearing those birds.❤
The castle gardens make a great place for them to live 😊
WANT! :D
We played for hours 😅
この動画を見て、 書写山行きました。 動機をありがとうございます。 Regards Rielu
Thanks for checking in! Hope you enjoyed the hike up the mountain. And I hope you did it with more daylight than I did 😅!!!
Hey! I just found your geocache in New Braunfels! Fun find! Thanks!
Glad you have found the channel. Hope you enjoy the geocaching adventures!
That was a busy day and LOTS of walking.
My dogs were barking by the time I made it back to the ferry.
LOL I love how the others took a knee for the intro.
Normally, it is something I do to frame with Ai-Chan. I don't drop down as much now that she is not with me on every adventure.
Nick, are the prefecture's similar to counties or provinces?
By size, the prefectures are most comparable to large West Coast counties. The way they are divided into smaller districts though, the prefectures are administratively like states with smaller East Coast counties within.
先日はありがとうございました。 楽しかったです。 あなたをUA-camで見れて嬉しいです。
今後のビデオも楽しんでいただければ幸いです :) ありがとうございます!
The journey IS the destination! 👏 👏 👏 👏
If there is only one thing I can pass on with this channel - Let that be it :)!
Is it possible to drive from Cody Wyoming to Cooke City in winter?
Driving any of those roads in the winter can be quite risky. Even as late in the year as I was there, the highway was not open all the way through.
Did you post a Will Attend and they still didn't wait for you?
I did a will attend. It was just a little odd. I met them when I got to the top.
@@magplannerRegards Rielu
@@利得-u5nThank you for hosting the event!
I love your motto for trails
😊
Oh snap you got shorts now… Let’s ggooooo
Trying to roll a little bit of both :) - Up, Up, and Away!
Does this qualify you for Challenge Caches you signed?
No. My best busy day is in the Czech Republic with 13 icons ❤. I just like to accomplish the feat in another country, whenever I see the opportunity 😊
The hike up the mountain reminds me of the Appalachian trail
I would have to agree with you. It is very reminiscent of portions of the Appalachian Trail that I have had the chance to hike. I love the rugged conditions, but would prefer not to take them on for the first time under the failing light of the day 😅
Thanks for taking us on your adventure. The city are quite clean other than a few stray weeds.
Yes they are! One and all - Quite Clean!
Looks like a Joro Spider. If you're in the US it is invasive.
It is a Joro spider. It is the most common one to come across on the trails (and walk face first into) out here in Japan.
Is that a garden spider??
A Joro Spider. They are all over the place out here. Venomous, but barely so. The bite is equivalent to a bee sting, though they are reluctant to bite people unless antagonized.
REWATCH 2 - Looks like the plan to get to Evansville is now in the works - apparently, there is a good place to get Apple Cider there during our Fall trip... and of course, the library.
Can't ever skip out on the library geocaches, unless the hours just don't line up. Those are so often the highlight of my day :).
REWATCH - Making plans to replicate your journey on a trip - targeting Greenville and Owensboro
Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. I wish you the best in replicating any steps in this amazing journey. Dog not included ;). And, as always, I appreciate the rewatch commentary :D!
Glad you and Ai made it back home to Japan and the family. Seeing these great finds really makes me want to dust off the passport and travel, and some finds around the world to my log.
That is certainly a hope of this series, to motivate cachers to get out and explore new places, near and far. Hope to see you out there on the trails with us!!!
Great to see your faithful old girl out with you for some caches.
Always love it when she is down for an adventure still 😊!
Ai is looking well! What type of containers do you hide?
I have a few small size LnLs hidden around my area. I have some more interesting containers I've picked up, but they've been gathering dust in the lab.
So precious ❤
She really enjoyed the day :)
