I will be teaching you how to find whether a function is increasing or decreasing using differentiation method. If f'(x) is greater than 0 at each point in an interval L, then the function is said to be increasing on L. If f'(x) is less than 0 then the function is decreasing.

There are two special starting conditions for quadratic sequences. A[0]=2, A[1]=-b/a and B[0]=0 and B[1]=1. So, with a cubic, there are three kinds and each one has different starting conditions. I imagine I could just use this same strategy and go to the -1 term. That would be two of them figured out, the third kind, I don't know what to do.

When using trial and error. You know that 1^3=1, 2^3 =8, 3^3=27. Cubic number is n^3. So you compare the cubic numbers to you sequence. Here the numbers in the sequence are twice the cubic numbers hence 2n^3. Thank you. Xoxo
