First ever surf at One Eye Le Morne Mauritius July 2024. Reminiscing now that back in cold Perth winter. Managed to catch a few of the down the line runs left over from the expert locals dominating the break with their steep takeoffs overlooking clear and shallow reef.

Hi for the intro part I was using a seat harness pole mount for a Go Pro 360 Max. I ordered it from Europe somewhere and have forgotten the name There's some good options out there 🙂

Hello Andrew, we spoke in the water. I'd like to publicly state that Oneye is for advanced surfers only. A boat drop-out doesn't prevent accidents, injuries or being caught by current. Also you must avoid bringing go-pro or filming equipment if you're not an amazing surfer, because it adds pressure to the situation. There is a beginner wave at Le Morne, non-localised, for all to enjoy and it was working that same morning. As we spoke about it calmly, I'm slightly disappointed to see you posted the video on UA-cam even tho locals explained it nicely to you. Your video is misleading and might send the wrong message to your community. I wish you luck in your future surf adventure. Hope you appreciate this message.
Hi yes I understand. The description mentions; "expert locals dominating the break with their steep takeoffs overlooking clear and shallow reef." I wrote this to try and emphasise that it is a wave for advanced surfers. I agree we don't want to attract beginner and inexperienced surfers to compete for a wave at this break. I don't want to step on any toes and am ok to remove this clip if you prefer? Are you a resident there in Mauritius? It's really just to show a few pals here in Perth Western Australia that it's a great place to visit. Hi James it's a Naish Pivot 9m and the hydrofoil is a carbon Daytona Race foil I bought second hand from a friends of a friend. It's a lovely stable and forgiving and very fast foil 🙂
