Join me experimenting with art, cooking, anything, and everything really!
Academically trained in software engineering I turned to the arts in 2020 to deal with this whole implosion of the world. Bought some art supplies and started painting with acrylics, watercolor, digitally as I said, I like to experiment.
Since the other 50% of my time, I spent cooking decided to also bring that into the channel. Where I've been trying out food from around the globe!

#14 Unlocked Music | Life in Lockdown (Art Series)
My wife and I have travelled the world, I think Budapest is my favorite city.....So Far, Grease, Spain and Africa next on our list.
man I just f'd up another canvas, you didnt even mention what colors you used for the second skull
Copying old masters' drawing 1:1 might be helpful for exploration of techniques, but I believe, if you do it on daily basis for years, all you will become is a well-skilled craftsman, but not an artist with unique style. Imagine if e.g. Van Gogh went to a traditional school of art instead of being self-thought artist, all he would become is a product of his masters' teaching. His own interpretation of reality would be (at least partially) killed. Look at the reality around you, interpret in your own style and develop it.
Does it works good still? Does scratches on them are a problem?
I'd like to give another tip: do not take a photo; use a mirror instead-it's way better. The lens of the camera does not capture what you see absolutely and does not even improve understanding of the form itself. Actually, I like to use two types of mirrors: a white mirror and a black mirror. The second one is pretty easy to make-just take a piece of glass and paint one side with black paint, which is great for agrouping the values. I use them for self-portraits and to study hands, arms, feet, and so on, just by placing the light in front of you to start making some drawings.
I'm looking for tablet review and I've found Ted Nugent from Cat Scratch Fever. 😉😋
hahahha close enough!
hi! this is amazing. can i ask what brand paint youre using
I have a bit a of a mixed bag, but most of them are Winsor & Newton Galery Acrylic
I really like these videos :D So nice to see someone go through the process!
Thanks! It's a whole new world for me :)
I always worry for people who get on the roof too. No idea of how much weight a vans roof can take from stock condition. And while you have clearly added wood to the whole thing I personally don't trust it too much. Do people who add various roof zafari styled mods add tons of extra support on the inside or is it pretty much just good to go? Really curious as i wanna do the same oneday.
yeah I don't know specific values and I wouldn't jump on top of it with feet together. Event tho it could probably handle it. I tried to either walk on top of the support beams inside (not the wood, the actual metal support beans that support the roof and the walls of the van) or spread out my weight. Those beams can definitely handle a lot and if its spread out then the same can be said.
I never understood the massive draw people have to make a skylight in the roof. Why not make vent on the side of the roof instead so you can fit more solar panels or storage/roof deck space. If you want light you can just get it from windows instead and the same for airflow.
Not entirely sure I understand what the side of the roof means. Like on the roof still, but not in the middle? Anywho, I put mine in the location because there it wouldn't interfere with the cabinet placement inside the van. Other than that I wanted it to have someway to exhaust the steam when I'm cooking in the van, even with the window.
@@gigacardoso Yes, I did mean to have the vent as more of a slit out of the way on the side of the roof rather then a full skylight in the middle :) Would make tons more roofspace for solar or packing. But I'm just "venting" for the lack of veriety amongst vanlife vans ;). There is also the more practical location for a cooking fan, over the stove... rather then in the roof where all the steam goes all over the cabinets, walls and roof. Frying anything would be a nightmare to clean. Bet most vans are sticky with grease because of it. Not to mention the smell. Even prebuilt new and pretty vans dont come with a cooking fan and istead rely on skylight or windows. Så strange. But it's just my opinion. Such a small detail that in reality probably only matters to those who live longterm in their vans anyway, and you can always just get used to it. Thanls for a good video :)
Cool video, looks like a fun trail. Me and my girlfriend hiked Nevada Falls with y’all at Yosemite, and one of the Hunts was my basketball coach, crazy connections!
That is awesome! I need to get to those video, I think I only have one more before Yosemite 😬
I really want to hike this trip, hopefully over christmas. Good to know you can wild camp :-)
You should! Well You can't but you can. It's not strickly allowed but as long as you respect the place and leave no trace it's fine :)
Estas editting skills estao fortissimas!
Hhehe thanks friend!
I remembered my Password 🙈
I hope you don't mind but I am very much inspired by this and I'm going to do my own rendition.
Yes, please do and then send me a picture or tag me on Instagram if you use it!
@gigacardoso I will! I am about half way done, I'm making a video of the process and have you a shout out. Not that I have many followers but I like to give credit where credit is due. I'd also love to add a short clip or a still from your video to show where I got the idea from (plus a link to your video in the description) if you don't mind?
Chegaste a ir?!
@@gigacardoso Viva. Ainda ando a planear. Estou a apontar para o final de Dezembro ou inicio de Janeiro. Abraço e boas aventuras :)
These are really awesome. I’m in the process of doing a painting that has a partial skull in it and this really helped me. 💀🖤
I'm glad :)
I'm proud of you too. Great job!
Well done. Excellent vid that shows not everything has to be done to precision, or be absolutely perfect. As long as it looks good and serves its intended purpose, then its job done.👏
hehhe thats my specialty!
*Takes notes*
I love your art works!!!!!! The blue and magenta look so cool!
Size of speaker please 🙏
They are 100mm!
Practice…. And have fun, and take your time, and find what feels comfortable, and try styles, and don’t be hard on yourself, just don’t do it next time.
How long you was finished that drawing picture sir.?
🔥🔥👌🏾👍🏾
Crazy 😧 nice
You got good song taste man
Try cutting your pencils differently so the lead is more exposed. The tool becomes far more versatile that way.
Good tip!
Copying anatomy books can help you improve too
that's true!
quantos km no total?
Lets see. Nevermind
Grinder dude, just rub the heads off any knackered screws with a grinding disk or flap wheel even
Stick the speakers down or they will start to rattle
I approve this content, and support the The Office references! Keep it coming! 🤣🤣
Allo! Onde compraste o rolo para soundproofing? E eu prefiro videos de projeto :)
Numa loja que se chama obras360
I wonder if it's the year with the most Rain ever in Portugal 🙈
No entiendo cómo alguien puede felicitarle por este video. Es una muestra narcisista de lo bien que dibuja usted. Pero no se aprende absolutamente nada viendolo. Está hecho solo para presumir. No me sirve en absoluto.
Adoroooo! completamente viciada hehe
Tão tenho de ir acabar rápido a última parte 😊

Thanks!
Thank you for the review, I am a noob and my wrist hurts real bad trying to draw with a mouse so I decided to upgrade my experience, but keeping it simple since it is a new hobby for me.
Looks cool 👍🏾
O David Attenborough podia comentar uma parte 😂❤
Muito bom!! Adorei 👏
Bro people say it has some delay is it true ?
I only felt that went my computer was bogging, like for example if I had many programs open and was screen recording. But I guess that could depend on what powerful your computer is
So glad I watched this video, was feeling really uninspired to paint a skull commission. But now I'm feeling pumped! I like that you used one color for each each skull it's all a matter of layering and detailing versus worrying about mixing colors 😊
Go crush it!!
I think the first one has more interesting shape of skull, especially the lower part of the face. But the second has better finish and more realistic texture.
my halfway house won't allow me to watch your videos because you say 'dope'
Dude you got me howling 😂😂
awesome job Dani! it’s looking great! I would prefer weekly, it’s more content and we could have a closer look at all the little steps. But you know better that anyone what is best for you and your channel!
awesome!!! Gracias bro...
