Throwing on the Pottery Wheel
Learning to throw on the wheel is a rewarding challenge. Begin by centering the clay on the wheel, focusing on keeping it steady. Then, open the centered clay to create the base of your piece. As you proceed, pull the walls up to form the shape, maintaining even thickness. Throughout the process, keep your movements steady and your pressure consistent. Finally, finish by smoothing the surface and trimming the base. Practice is key, as each step requires patience and refinement to master.

You did good. I will try the little tree.
Hi. Thank you for the video! Did you pre-heat the vessel? Every time I tried to pour a (100 % natural wax) candle into a porcelain vessel, the wax detaches itself from the vessel after some time and I literally can take a block of wax out of the vessel. This happened with cold vessels as well as with preheated vessels ...
Did not preheat the vessel, I just poured it in directly but made sure the wax was not super hot. But have not noticed the separation, maybe because of the shape of my pots? xx

Hello I’m a potter as well and I’ve been wanting to make sake sets, I was wondering would it be inappropriate for me to create and sell sake sets if I am from a European ethnicity.
There is no rules to what you can or can't make or sell as a potter 😉😊
Nice 👍

Awesome tutorial, but why make a cup when you have a pringle can which gives you both pringles and a much bigger can to drink out of. Can I request a tutorial on how to make a ceramic pringle can in case there is none around?
Haha can try! 🤭
I just wanted to let you know that you made it to top post on the reddit community r/oddlymesmerizing If you didn't know

Hi from a fellow NW Londoner! This is awesome :) I started learning pottery just before covid. Definitely going to get back to it once it's all over. Keep up the cool vids!
Hihi , yay thank you! And yes definitely keep going with learning pottery once everything starts to open again. I'm glad my videos are somewhat helping with learning more about pottery . 😊🌸🌸
Amazing video, I so want to give it a go following your suggestions!
Yay!😀
I wonder if there's more people who pulled an handle or milked a cow...
Haha I'm not sure but I've definitely pulled more handle than milked a cow 🐄🐄🐮

Yes , a mug for everything and anything :)
Hey Sampada, I just found your lovely channel through a comment on anothers channel video. I really like your videos, they are so cute and fun to watch! 😄 I'm just wondering how you fire this little bauble in the kiln when its glazed completely with transparent glaze?
Yay! Super happy that you came across my channel 💓💓 when I put it in the klin , I clean the glaze off the top rim part of the bauble ( the open part / neck of the shape ) , so when I place it in the klin its fired upside down so the whole shape is glazed and only the rim is left without and is covered by the cap to hang the bauble. Hope that helpes 😅... if not I'll do a video in the future of how I load/fire different shapes in the klin .Thank you😊💓🌸🌸
@@TheSlightlyCurious thank youu! 😄 that helped me yes! But nevertheless I'd also love to see a video from you where you explain how to load the different shapes into the kiln (maybe for the first and the second firing). Looking forward for more videos from you 😊😊
@@sarahj4128 yay will do ! 😀🌸🥰
These are so beautiful! I was watching the pottery throw down which led me here, and was so annoyed that you were let go, I really thought it was unjustified. Will you be making more of these in the future to sell? I would buy them, I really love your style. Hope this New year brings you much joy and peace :)
Awww 💓💓 thank you! Hope you find joy this year too. Really great you found me here on UA-cam! I normally announce shop updates on my instsgram , I'll be making some in next month or so. 🌸🌸💓
I think you should pour some more water on clay...
your studio space is so beautiful! 🥰
