Some accomplishments that exemplify the ingenuity of International Snubbing Services (ISS) include: reduction of rig footprints for operation on the smallest of locations; modification of rig components to increase capacities but not their size; redesign of rig sub bases and skid beams to operate with hydraulic equipment; design of a hydraulic, continuously operating rotary with increased torque capabilities; automation of several hydraulic rig systems; design of a lightweight top drive system to be used on hydraulic drilling rigs; configuration of a derrick pipe racking system and design of rig components for easy configuration with a variety of platform layouts. . Why is your operator running the tongs? Don't your rough necks know how to tail pipe? You have AWFUL Chinese BOPs, I was a field supervisor for a BOP company Xing De equipment is DANGEROUS. We couldn't get most of them certified for service. Your BOPs should be half that size too if you went with API, Shaffer, Hydril, Cameron or even Townsend! I'd rather strip through rubber on a T81 than have anything to do with that pressure equipment. And bleeding to PIT? where are your testers? Flare stack? Why 5 flat beds? We ran a FOUR post (only one operating in Northwestern Canada at the time) but we had THREE tractors and only one flat bed that doubled as a catwalk. I've latched those exact elevators, with safety pin and it is literally 1 motion an takes me .5 seconds. Plus we where on an average of 4K, critical-sour, wells, at depths all over 3,500M pulling 4" drill pipe. This is pathetic. The only thing I liked about your rig was the crane. THAT is a nice unit.

I'm in West TX. I see nothing but conventional workover rigs on the side of the road. When is it necessary to hire a snubbing unit over a conventional workover? And is snubbing slowly replacing the workover industry? What has a better career outlook?
2 years later and I know how dumb my question was :) been on completions, horizontal re-entries, workovers, maintenance, and plugging/abandonment jobs for standard workover rigs, now ready to learn about some pressure control
I’m honestly lost on what these are used for, I work for Patterson and don’t know much about completions. These snubbing units don’t have a top drive or rotary table so do they just pull casing? Sorry for the dumb question
@@truesandiegan1839 no, snubbing can pull tubing and pump with the well still live. VS a regular pulling units which requires the well to be killed by pumping heavy fluid down hole which can hurt overall production.
