Yea. The sequencer limitations are the hardest part, even if i manage long chord progressions in a pattern i run out of step resolution to program interesting melodies on top.

Thanks :) It's my biggest gripe with the elektron machines. Why is the sequencer so limited, when the sound design possibilities are so vast? Wish there was more res when doubling the track length 😅

@@atomtwist3355 me too! Some say the Syntakt has limited scope, but I disagree. It’s a shortcut into wild new territory.

I agree. The limits for me are rather in the elektron sequencer, not the synth stuff.

@@atomtwist3355 interesting! The Elektron sequencer is half the draw for me with their machines. I’ve tried a few different ones and after spending more time sequencing this way it is by far my favorite! If you don’t mind, what is it you don’t like with it?

I come more from a composing background, and i like to make music with long chord progression, and melody arcs, or would like to follow along with what i hear in my head, and cramming that into the 64 steps is most of the time not too much fun. Also different time signatures than 4/4 require crazy math on elektron stuff, and in terms of generative music its also a lot more limited than eg. modular. I think when i make more repetitive or ambient kinda music the elektron stuff is fun.

Yup. That works. M8 can mix 1 stereo signal, or 2 mono (if you have the right cables). The nice thing is, all of the audio will be sent out via USB, to record videos into phone, or audio into the computer :)

Yes. That's how i record straight into the phone. Play doesn't have USB audio.

The M8 is just acting as an audio interface, so i can record audio straight into the phone via usb during filming. The switch is just lying around on the couch 😅
