He was literally scared of my arguments; asked me to "not try to take his faith away" and I was completely baffled, because that was not my goal at all. Of course I couldn't resist to say:"How can I possibly take your faith away that easy? It can't be very strong, then". The discussion ended there. People WANT to believe.

Peterson says every time how "incredibly complex" a question is. But HE'S the one making it complicated. Everything is incredibly complicated, when you look at it from a certain angle.

How many people have used their god as a rationale for why they were righteous and justified in their killing or persecution of another?

Terrible. You two pick out traits you think are sketchy and don’t even realize that people with high IQ have similar traits because they think in complex ways and can high process information. I know both these mens work and used to subscribe. This show of child like character assasination and full on ignorance and no willingness to study is their own character defamation. I no longer support either man. It’s a niche specialty at best and that the broader picture is not only not understood but also not even something they can identify shows how most biblical scholar work is of limited application or relevance outside of micro specialty.

The reality is, none of what was said here is valid as a legitimate dispute.

Ammon is so dismantled after hearing this episode. Now I understand. Ammon is misinterpreting these ancient texts because he is translating poetry and philosophy like a medical text. Thats why everything Ammon says has to do with drugs. He's so entwined in acient drug use and drug text translation, that he can't comprehend anything that is not about drugs, therefore, making it about drugs to please his own comprehension.

I don't know a single thing about this Ammon Hillman guy, but I DO know this: Dr. Kipp Davis is ANYTHING but "full of shit"! The man is brilliant. Enormously erudite. And if you don't like what he has to say, fine. But is it really necessary, Ammon, to resort to the crude language of 5th grade bullies. Come on. Shame on you! I have been trying to find the actual text from which Ammon Hillman used, has studied, etc...to read myself. I am not interested in anyone just repeating Ammons own words as a reference...I have listened to his own words myself. But somehow I must be missing him giving his source material that he studied to get his ideas of interpretations. Thanks in advance if so! And yes i have been searching the internet, but just need a title!
