I was in my early teens when I first heard Chopin's Bb minor Sonata for the first time. It spoke to my condition so much, that I not only carried a copy of the score with me everywhere I went, I slept with it under my pillow! And so, you have brought back a loving childhood memory for me with this fine performance of yours, Yako! I think I have listened in on all your Academy performances to date, and this most recent recital by you embraces some bold and challenging works; works that when I was your age one could only dream of playing! Islamey is no small feat, surely! And so, it is with immense respect and admiration that I commend you on this most recent presentation. It is always a pleasure to hear you play, as it is also an honour to bear witness to the Honesty with which you intone each piece! May your gift for Music continue to bring you the joys of artistic satisfaction, and reward you with every success! Blessings!
@@PhillipLWilcher Phillip, It brings me so much joy to read your words. Thank you so much for taking the time to listen and write to me; it takes a special young teen to carry and sleep with the score of such a masterpiece! I really appreciate you and your love for music. Blessings to you as well!
@@yakoperlov9107 Yako, I am well out of my teen years and into my senior years now, but Music has kept me young! With such youth on your side, you are destined to achieve great things! I look forward to hearing you play again soon! God bless you!
very talented pianist!
You are brilliant already! Beautiful concert! Your future is very bright! University of Michigan is so fortunate to have you there! Hugs, Barbara, Jack, and Alex
Yako, what a delight it is for us to see you and to hear your beautiful music. Thank you for sharing your amazing gift with all who have the privilege of listening. Enormous gratitude to your grandfather, Bill Kaufman for sharing this special video.
Piano just doesn’t get any better than this . The ultimate. Thank you for sharing your beautiful gift with me and the world ! (Jill, BTW. Weird username here🤷🏻♀️)
Always such a joy to hear you play Yako!!
What an introduction by the host, too! I remember you playing Snowstorm at the house in January. 👏👏
You're amazing!! We're so excited for what's to come for you!
Congratulations Yako!! Greetings from Greece!!!
Insane 😧
I just realized that this song has a reference (sorta) to Moonlight sonata movement 3. Also you can try to prove me wrong but just listen, and you might hear it. Also I know this is most likely logical because Liszt took a lot of inspiriation from Beethoven, and loved most of his pieces
Mine most favourite etude!!
I love the undulating motion of the prelude, it is light and buoyant, and what would the music of Bach be without buoyancy, although this in most instances stems from the unheard beat, yes? The fugue is so suitably articulated with a fine feeling for part playing! I do enjoy listening to you, Yako! God bless you!
Wonderfully atmospheric to begin, Yako. Then the subsequent flowering of ideas! I admire your lucidity as a musician, how it renders your interpretations pleasurable. God bless you!
You never cease to amaze me with your technique and musicality! Beautiful performance!
Thank you so much Macayla!
Yako, the Fm Ballade, it is the most perfect thing, yes? The unfurling of it to arrive at the Db section and what follows! It's incredible!
Hi Phillip! It sure is. A marvel of a piece. I believe it explores the entirety of the human experience in just under 12 minutes.
@@yakoperlov9107 Yes, it surely must do. It also addresses every aspect of technique covered in Chopin's etudes! Well, I think so ... Bless you, Yako!
I have been having a love affair with Chopin's Fm Ballade all my life, and that's a long time. I even penned a small book around my love affair! Yako, I enjoyed your performance of this most remarkable outpouring - the Mona Lisa of Music - very much, as well as I have enjoyed listening to you play before! Thank you! Blessings!
Great job!!
Awesome!
Great job!
Reminds me of the play from Martha Argerich Not only you performed excellently and your posture is also very nice and elegant 💯💯💯
Excellent performance! The skill and passion are there. The audiences will grow, both in numbers and appreciation.
How cool
Holy shit I was scared
Nice
Wow this is amazing
What a Sunday sunset soundtrack - thank you Yako!
How beautiful!
I ennoyed your super preformance. Keep up the good work. Bill
I'm impressed by your ease, that nothing of the difficulties inherent in this etude should stem the flow. Congratulations. You are very gifted!
I think this is the most youthful of Chopin's Ballades. I have always felt Chopin's elegance (not so much as a musician in this instance, rather the dandy well turned out in his frock coat, cravat and dove-grey gloves) is in evidence here, the sartorial splendour of a salon. I also love it's buoyancy. Chopin's carriage, perhaps. I have enjoyed listening to you once again. Appearance-wise you are not unlike a young Michael Gilson-Thomas! Bless you!
Where would we be without Bach! Lyrical playing, Yako. Thank you!
Your facility is impressive, without affectation, seemingly effortless. I have enjoyed listening to you play! Blessings!
I believe every aspect of technique covered in Chopin's Etudes is addressed in this Ballade. I've been in love with it all my life. It's the Mona Lisa of music. Thank you for your performance, Yako. Blessings!
I think you have a very fine feeling for nuance! Beautiful, really!
I have been having a love affair with Chopin's Fm Ballade all my life! It is the most extraordinary thing! I enjoyed your performance of it together with all the other works comprising your program. Blessings!
why u sitting on a book (sounds amazing btw)
